Really Teixeira??  Really??  Lands himself on the 15 day DL with a hamstring after the 3rd game of the season after only playing in 15games all of last season.  It's this kind of stuff that becomes a chemistry killer as the season progresses. I know it's not his fault and I feel bad for him, but man to have one of your key guys yet again start the in and out of the line up thing is really frustrating.  It's early in the season so end rant.

And now Robertson on 15day DL with a groin. (Palm to forehead).

I know its still early to get overly excited about, but Tanaka has been looking outstanding thus far. I knew right from the first start when he gave up a home run from the very first batter he faced, he then pitched his ass off afterwards. A lot of rookies would have been shakened. He showed a lot of poise which is very promising, not to mention 28 k's in three starts. Potential to be a front line starter (ace) if this continues.

Nuno should be a good replacement, but Nova is a big loss. I hope this is our last "big" injury on the season. Especially on the pitching staff.

Pineda ejected for pine tar on his neck....does anyone on the Yankees know what's going on? Pine tar on his neck and no teammate or coach says anything, especially since he did it once before?

Most pitchers use substances like that. They said that the last time when it was discussed.  They never enforce the rule really ever unless the other team points it out. I feel pine tar should be legal. You can use i on your bat, glove etc, but not on the ball.

I think the red sox just started something they shouldn't have. This could come back to bite them and alot of other teams.

Yeah it it used all the time in baseball. It's just not as rediculously blatant as Pineda did last night. If you look back to game 1 of the World Series last year John Lester of the Redsox had a substance in his glove for the entire game. No one called him on it though.

Actually, pine tar is used by at least half the pitchers currently in the game today. It's a very common practice among pitchers as long as it is hidden (specifically in the pitching glove). Some pitchers, like Bucholz of the Red Sox, puts it in his hair. Tazawa, also of the Red Sox, puts it on wrist. Pine tar doesn't alter the performance of the baseball as it takes flight. It just helps pitchers get a better grip. Specifically in cold / rainy weather conditions.

Regardless of who does use it, it is illegal use for pitchers, they cannot put any substance on the ball at all...and especially since he did it previously, it is an insult to everyone in the game...he thinks rules don't apply to him....there were pitchers who were suspended I think it was last year or 2012 for the same thing....I know there is a lot of cheating and shortcuts taken, but this was just so arrogant.....

I agree, he's an idiot for trying to get away with it again but the rule is stupid. Football players and golfers use gloves for grip, to me, what's the difference?

I think a lot of these guys use it but they hide it pretty well.Read an article where hitters don't mind it as they won't be hit in the head as much,LOL! Anyway, the most egregious thing with Pineda was not his flagrant use of it, but that Girardi and all the other players in the dugout didn't stop him from going out there.Saying they didn't see it is a real stretch.I'll bet this suspension will send a message loud and clear and this will not happen again anywhere.

Just over the wire....Buhrle wins his 10th, Encarnacion homers,Jays defeat KC, 4-0.I smell a playoff spot for Toronto if they keep this up.
