Yep, Collins actually made a good call for a change taking Gee out BEFORE they tied it up! lol Last night was horrible, leaving Mejia in for 8 runs! He should have been pulled after 4 runs scord...don't wait til they outscore you!

Exactly right, Dunz.Collins blew that game the other day we were 6 runs ahead.Gee is now the Ace of the staff.Excellent performance to stop the hot hitting Rockies.Even with the lousy series against them, we are only one game out as Atlanta and the Nats are playing piss poor right now as well.Nice to see Lagares back in there.I love that kid.

I don't necessarily agree with you on that part.
Mejia allowed those 8 runs in only 16 pitches.
Four of them came on the last swing.
He was pitching a shutout before that inning.
First of all, nobody had any idea he was going to lose it that inning.
Second off, I don't think anybody would have even had a chance to warm up that quickly.

The batting or hitting instructor (coach) , should be fired on the spot after these last 7 games.Absolutely atrocious.I'd have these guys doing double batting practice against a real pitcher, not some coach lobbing pitches in.We have close to the worst hitting average in both leagues while the poor pitchers have played their guts out. Here's where you need a manager like George Patten to kick these guys butts! We go into the Subway Series in this horrible slump. The Yanks have payback on their minds after last year.Going to be awful to watch for a Mets Fan if this is how they will play.

I think both teams left something like 35 men on base last night....unbelieveable!

Well, the miserable streak just gets worse. My Mom has a friend who has been a Fan since 1962 and he refuses to watch anymore.A bad omen for ticket sales. The Yanks must be licking their chops getting ready to fatten up on us.Literally disgusting, last place for a team that was "going to win 90 games."

Again, no one wants to make a decision.....we have 2 great starting prospects, why not bring them up.....they can't do any worse...Doc Gooden started young.....they all think, "oh, they'll get going, they'll get it together.". well, they're NOT! And you need to do something before we are 10 games out and have to play catch up....we are lucky we are only 4 games out......

Mets thinking of bringing up Montero and putting Mejia in the pen. I think they should make Mejia the closer.

I'd give him a shot in that role.He has great stuff but no longevity as we saw in Colorado.Somebody needs to step up to be an effective closer.

Supposedly they have triple-A players that are showing potential. There are some decent bats too according to their site, including a short stop. Why don't they bring them up?
That is the rhetorical question for sure.

Pathetically, I think the subway series will be closer than everyone thinks, the Yankees have lots of holes and injuries.

The Yanks are hurting if they let the Mets score 9 runs.Maybe we are just getting hot at the right time.Great slugfest and a great way to start the Subway Series, a classic New Yok institution.

Great comeback attempt by the Yanks in the bottom of the 9th.You can't count those guys out until the last out which we were very lucky to get as a DP ball.Lot's of great power on the Yankees. Can't get a better game for a Subway Series.

4 homeruns last night by the Mets. Granderson, Eric Young,Chris Young, Travis D'Arnaud. I wish they can play in this stadium everyday. Even Gary Cohen called this ballpark a little league park lol

5 wins in a row against the Yanks is the longest winning streak ever against the Yanks.

Wheeler vs Nuno tonight

Yeah, that short right field porch is a hitters delight.Have'nt seen Mets power like that since the Delgado-Beltran days of years ago.

Another great slugfest tonight.Worst we can do now is a split.Wish we could trade Citi Field for Yankee Stadium, LOL.Haven't seen the Mets hit like this in years.Tough to be a pitcher in Yankee Stadium.

It's a long season,Frank, barely started. The Yanks are a powerhouse club. They have scored 14 runs in the two games against the Mets. You guys have the same problem with middle relief we have although with CC out, the starting pitching is weak. Was not impressed with Nuno.

Maybe you guys need a trade for middle relief or a starter to shore up the pitching. Some tough NL teams out there, as you saw with Milwaukee.Wow, that would be a matchup for the World Series, Milwaukee vs the Yanks. That happened in 1957 and 1958, the Braves won in '57 and the Yanks in '58.Classic baseball history in those towns.
