Things change awful quickly in baseball.

Stephen Drew is hitting 160 in his last 400 at bats. How long does it take till we don't call it a slump and just declare him a 160 hitter. Love Texiaras power this year but a 202 average?

I will be happy with Tex if he has 30 HR / 100 RBI's with a low average. He basically admitted his average will never be at respectable levels any longer. He plays a good defense, too.

Drew is very streaky. Looks pretty good on D, but his bat is woeful. Time for Pirela to get some at bats. He is killing it in AAA

Yankees fall to 16-10

Yankees do their best Mets imitation tonight and waste 7 scoreless innings and a gem of a game from Whitley and go down 3-1. You can't win if  you can't score. Bad loss

How bad a hitter is Stephen Drew when Gregorio Petit pinch hits for him. Pathetic. When do they finally released him he's hit 158 in his last 400 bats he's not getting any better. Piralta healthy now with 3 consecutive 3 hit games in AAA. Let's make the move already Drew can be the backup for SS and Second base.

This team is kicking major booty. Hope it continues.

And we're getting back Nova, Tanaka, and Capuano back in the next 2-4 weeks

Need a bounce back win tonight. Wasted a good game by Eovaldi last night. Damn he throws hard.

2 straight losses - tonight we need to get back in the win column and take a split of the series with the Rays. Royals this weekend are going to be tough. I honestly do not understand this teams obsession with Drew / Didi - especially Drew. Refsnyder is killing it right now in the minors.

Well this makes 9 losses in a row for the two New York teams. The September series may be a fight to avoid a 100 loss season if this keeps up.

Serioisly, we have to make some changes.

Make Pirela the perm 2B or call up Refsnyder.

The ship is not just taking on water it's beginning to sink, rapidly.

Ellsbury to DL with knee sprain. That is not good, arguably our best player.

Heathcott promoted from AAA, who is a good player, but not an Ellsbury.

This team has had a tough schedule. Hopefully after the off day tomorrow they can come back to start the homestand strong.

Two wins seven losses on this road trip. Just forget about it now like you say take the day off and just try to win a game Friday. Everything has been awful the last nine games especially the hitting and the fielding which have both been horrible. Warren pitched another nice game and his fielding kill them in the seventh-inning headley and Beltran especially.

So this is what we can make of the Yankees so far.

Started 3-6, looked like they'd lose 100 games.
Then went 18-6, looked like they'd win 110 games.
Since then 1-8, looks like they'll lose 121 games and break Mets record for worst team in history.

Will the real team please stand up?

Then 1-10 with the worst stretch in 30 years.
Now 3-0 against the team with the best record in baseball.

I still have no idea what to really make of this team. It has been exciting though. I also like the infusion of youth something they desperately needed this year.

When will they finally admit that Drew can't hit?

Well, with all the ups and downs by the Yankees this year, what helps is that of the other four teams in the division, the best team is at .500 and Boston is in last place.  Of course, not much can be said about that when only four games separate the two teams.

This Yankees season has given me my first grey hair.

After just completing a sweep of the team with the best record on baseball they lose two in a row to the team with one of the worst records in baseball. And the beat goes on.

Mets have had the same problem...... guess they get complacent

What helps out the Yankees a lot is that the four other teams in their division are all under .500 while the Yankees are over .500 (at least at the moment)

Huge win in OT tonight for Yanks. Drew and Garrett Jones the hitting stars, not expected but I'll take it.

Betances and Miller should be all stars this year. Miller struggles for a save tonight but does strike out Cruz as the winning run in the bottom of the 11th.

Oddest box score I've seen in ages, Syndegard for the Mets tonight,
4 innings 7 runs 10 hits and 10 strikeouts? I thought at first it was a misprint.

I'm willing to bet that's the first time a pitcher has given up 10 hits and struck out 10 in 4 innings.

It equals 30-25 and first place but through each stretch of bad and good it's like a different team each time.

Drew finally come through the last week culminating with 2 homers last night. Average has now soared up to 174. If he stays hot he may actually hit 200 this year. What an accomplishment that would be.

Eovaldi is 5-1 and he's still not very good however when your 25 and you throw that hard you have to keep working with the kid.

A rod 4 hits last night. His production this year is actually justifying his pay. So far at least.

Tex has been amazing another guy earning his 20 million this year.
