The test will be when they play St. Louis and the Rockies. This week pad their lead against the weak division, then try to beat the stronger teams next week. I think we will have a good sense of where they stand by mid May

What a pitching performance by Gee. He was on his game tonight. I thought that run by the Marlins in the bottom of the 8th was going to be it. Wow, what a clutch double by Lagares and a big 3 run homer by Murphy. East 1-2-3 inning by Familia to close the game. Mets are now 15-5 and still 4.5 games in 1st place since the Braves beat the Nationals. Nationals are 8 games in last place. They have lost 6 in a row and several games below .500.

Nats in a tailspin. They blew a big chance a few years ago to make the playoffs when they leashed Strassberg.I think they will get on track.Quite frankly, Id rather start like tghe Nats and come on strong in Septmber. This April crap means diddly squat if the team fades out later in the season.

Tough loss last night after we tied them up.Collins has Tejada bunt with the slow Murphy on second? Bonehead move IMO.

Somethings wrong with DeGrom, he's gotten whacked the last two starts. Not good at all.The wheels are falling off the bus.It was a nice run to start the year.Just hope they can play 500 ball until Wright and D'Arnaud come back.

Two pitching masterpieces flushed down the toilet.Same old same old.....can't get runs off the top pitchers. Now we REALLY need Wright and D'Arnaud back. Can't stand up to the big boys the way we stand now.Ummmmm, Mr. Batting Coach, get off your arse!!!!

Enjoyed Tues and Weds night games watching with the Dutchess (my 94 year old Mom).We own these Birds,LOL, including 4-1 in the post season ,1969 World Champion Mets).THE OLLLLLLLLLLLLLD TIMER does it again! I have been watching baseball since 1960 long before most people here were born and I have never seen a guy like Colon, nearly 42 painting that plate like Rembrandt. It is F___ING unbelievable. Not only that, he made a play on a slow roller, jumping off that mound like a friggin' cat, wheeling and firing a cannon to first to nail the runner. What more can i tell you?

Good to see DeGrom get back on track last night as well.Good to see Curtis hitting and his OBP is amazing. Two game streak with Harvey coming up Friday.

LGM!

Was happy to see the gang back on track again. Collins better not fuss with the lineup too much like he did last year. The boys need consistency in the field and at bat. Give the players an occasional day off, but don't be drastically changing the lineup every game.

Now that he has a lineup that produces more, I think you're right.Murphy is doing pretty good fielding third, Herrera had a breakout night and the kid Pawlecki is exceeding expectations handling the staff and hitting.Everything will change when Wright and D'Arnaud get back.

Here's some crap news.Wright suffers back injury rehabbing hamstring.Early aging wreck category strikes again.Back in the 60's, a 32 year old was just about finished.Hope Wright bounces back fast, we need his bat.

Just a horrible, crap day.Harvey pitches a great game and these guys produce only one run.Wright has an injured back and now Gee is on 15 day DL with a groin injury.

Nice win today.

Colon is now 6-1 with a 3.30 era. He only walked 1 person so far this season. Amazing.

I am in total awe, Snow, of Bartolo Colon and am very glad the Mets never traded him and laughing at the teams that may have wanted him last year but never came across. This first place position is mainly as a result of those six wins. For a 42 year old, amazing. He was a little shaky giving up 4 runs but the Mets put up some runs.A 4 run game is winnable if your team can score.

Told Mom last night at the end of the first inning the game was lost when they had the bases loaded with one out and could not score a run.Not making excuses but three key hitters are out, Wright, D'Arnaud and Lagares.Hard luck Harvey pitches great with nothing to show. Can't even think of a playoff run without the injured guys back.

I think the Cubbie Fans have a lot to like.Even though their team lost 7 out of 9 coming into this series, I see a lot of great young power hitters in that lineup. With Madden there, who knows? No World Series since 1908 ,amazing!

Very frustrating they can't score with a man on 3rd and 1 out.... hopefully they'll turn it around when the guys get back

Dunz, I'm cutting them slack because run production is not going to be good with Wright, D'Arnaud and Lagares out.Pawlecki is a nice prospect but he needs more time in the minors. He's having trouble with major league pitching right now. Also, as always, the Wilpons have to loosen the purse strings or Alderson has to make a trade for a solid, young hitter(s) who can hit .300,25HRs and 125 hits.Going on the cheap with Cuddyer and Granderson will only get you so far.
