Losing 9-1, Duda out with hamstring, Lagares still not right, Wright is wrong.....

We're going down faster than an olive in a Martini.

As long as we stay within a few games of first, I'll keep the faith. So many injuries across baseball, Keith was thinking maybe too much weight training during the season, when they just should do enough to maintain their fitness. We'll see.

I remember a picture of Roger Maris sitting on a table in the clubhouse in 1961 smoking a cigarette and he got through that entire season without injury.Maybe Keith has something there.Something is really wrong with all of these injuries.

I wonder when the Mets are going to bring up Steve Matz. I think it's time. He's only 23 years old. His numbers in the minors :

6-2

1.99 era

21bb

68ks

He pitched a gem yesterday going 7 innings with no runs and 7ks.

Thor Syndegaard pitched amazing and sent a towering drive to left center for a home run.Cuddyer,Duda followed.Blowout game 9-0.

I'd trade Gee and Niese for good bats and bring this kid up.Matz, Wheeler, Syndegaard, Harvey and DeGrom. Can you say Seaver-Koosman?

His homer measured 420 feet. What a sweet swing he has. Mets traded RA Dickey for Noah Syndergaard and Travis D'arnaud. This is looking like one of the best trades that the Mets have ever made.

Doc, I was at the game as well.  I was sitting in section 518.  7 1/3 scoreless innings from Syndergaard with a home run.

It was definitely a top Met trade, two great young prospects for a great but aging Dickey. A battery of Syndegaard and D'Arnaud courtesy of RA....SWEET!

Put Familia in his 8th inning role and see what Mejia can do enhancement drug free as the closer. If Mejia screws up, switch them back.

No way. Familia is our closer. Put Mejia as the 8th inning guy. We also have Parnell and Black coming back. Parnell reached 95 mph in yesterdays rehab game.

Glad Gee is coming back soon.Niese is really off the beam, bad performances lately. This Robles guy bites the big one, he's got to go.Hopefully,Parnell and Black can get back in there and help out.Middle relief has been awful lately. We score a rare five runs and lose to a weak team.

I think the Mets should look into trading for a 3rd baseman.

Good point byut I think they will try the Tejada on third bit and give Wright some more time.If Wright isn't back by the end of June, I'd definitely make a move.

Another DeGrom gem, 8 inning 2 hit game! Danny Murphy red hot.Tejada looking great at third. This formula could be a winner as it lets Flores develop at short.

Great win. 7-0. Degrom was excellent. 8 shutout innings with 2 hits and 8k's . Murphy and Tejeda went a combined 7for 10. Mets are now 29-23 and tied for 1st place since the Nats were rained out. Nats play a double header today. Mets have Syndergaard on the mound tonight against Ian Kennedy.

You're right, but Shields is no slouch and any team would have a tough time with him.Gee and Niese not doing well right now.Might pave the way to "Meet the Matz"!

"Second and third and nobody out and [the Mets] do not score". How many times has Gary Cohen said this over the years? I've lost track of it. But that has been there main problem for awhile now. Sad

LOL I said this after the Mets offense came up empty in the top of the 5th down 1-0 and then in the 6th, they began scoring runs to win 6-2.  Harvey wins for the first time in over a month and Familia records a five-out save once again.

Now we wait and hear how serious Murphy's injury is.  Given the reputation of the Mets medical staff, it would not surprise me if it is a season-ending injury... Sad
