Yankees 2015 Season Empty Yankees 2015 Season

Post by Frank_Wx Tue Feb 17, 2015 1:30 pm

It is almost that time of year again. It has been announced that Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, and Andy Pettitte will get their numbers retired by the Yankees and each will get a plaque in monument park. Also noteworthy is A-rod is expected to hold a press conference to "apologize" to the fans. I am also hoping the Yankees sign the young Cuban stud, Yoan Moncada, by next week. That kid is something special.

A-rod

"I take full responsibility for the mistakes that led to my suspension for the 2014 season. I regret that my actions made the situation worse than it needed to be. To Major League Baseball, the Yankees, the Steinbrenner family, the Players Association and you, the fans, I can only say I'm sorry.
I accept the fact that many of you will not believe my apology or anything that I say at this point. I understand why and that's on me. It was gracious of the Yankees to offer me the use of Yankee Stadium for this apology, but I decided that next time I am in Yankee Stadium, I should be in pinstripes doing my job.
I served the longest suspension in the history of the league for PED use. The commissioner has said the matter is over. The Players Association has said the same. The Yankees have said the next step is to play baseball.
I'm ready to put this chapter behind me and play some ball.
This game has been my single biggest passion since I was a teenager. When I go to Spring Training, I will do everything I can to be the best player and teammate possible, earn a spot on the Yankees and help us win.
Sincerely,
Alex."

Yeah, yeah A-Rod whatever you say.Instead of writing that mealy mouth letter, how about putting your bat on a baseball and doing something to help your team that has invested millions in you.

Redemption is possible, but you are an aging wreck!

If only the players association didn't block his trade to the Red Sox in 2003 he would have been their headache all of these years.

Just play ball and shut up, and if you can't play ball anymore just retire so the Yankees insurance company can pay off the last three years of your contract. BTW if you can by some miracle play well we will cheer you that's what fans do but if you can't prepare for a barrage of boos like you've never heard before.

The balls in your court.

Worst contract ever for what they got out of him.He was always Mr.Choke come playoff time. They got one good year out of him, 2009, where he performed like he was supposed to.

Still, it would be an amazing story if he could put it all together this year.Like your "Central Park Won't Hit Zero" campaign of logic and reason, the same logic and reason here sees an aging wreck who had multiple injuries and hasn't played in a year.Very long shot he puts it all together and has a great year.

As a Fan of Baseball, I find myself rooting for the redemption of A Rod.I like the way he is conducting himself, humble and thankful to be a Yankee. Also, he is doing great hitting a homer last night.Everybody deserves a shot at redemption.Hope he stays healthy.

8-7, 5 of the last 6 and Tanaka today. I wish Tanaka was going tomorrow agaianst the Mets but we have to go with the hand dealt.

We shall see the first transgender pitcher in MLB Jackie Degroan and childhood Yankee fan and die hard, Derek Jeter lover, and starting pitcher for the 2019 New York Yankees, Matt Harvey.

It's a brutal way to start any series, all kidding and ribbing aside those two are already great.

It will be fun.

BTW- Where are the F'n Yankee fans on this thread. Show some B@lls people.

CP, I'm surprised that you did not mention anything about the snow in the Yankees-Tigers game last night.

Unless it happens here Mike, like it did at Yankee Stadium in 1982, 1997 and 2002 no interest.

Would have felt we had a chance if tanaka was pitching one of the games. At this stage priorities are avoid a sweep the obvious, and try to win the series and keep the hot streak going. One of these teams loses at least two of three this weekend just hope it's the Muts.

There's something wrong here when the Muts thread has three times as many views as the Yankees thread.

I suspect Janet, our beloved Dunzoo, is cooking the books. As a moderator I believe she has that power.
