2016 Yankees Season

Post by Frank_Wx on Sat Dec 12, 2015 9:17 am

I'm a little confused with the trades Cashman has made so far. I like the Castro deal, a young player with upside who should be light years better than Drew at 2B next season for us. I did not like the Wilson trade. Cashman said we needed more upper minor league pitchers but Wilson I thought was too valuable to trade for average players like that. We'll see what his next move is.

I'd ask for a "2016 Phillies Season" topic to be added, but around these parts I'd probably be the only one posting in it. Haha. (and given our current rebuild I'd probably rather not discuss them until 2017-2018 anyway). Laughing

I know the Yankee Fans hate the Red Sox, but we have GOT to appreciate a man who allegedly drank 107 beers in a day!! That ALONE is Hall of Fame and retire a number type of record.

They should nickname him Wade Megabladder Boggs!

Classic old timer type of player with great stats!

On the last day of the NFL regular season, it is time to note: 45 days until pitchers and catchers report.

Hell of a pitcher. Stacks the Yankees in the bullpen something fierce. I just hope he isn't a distraction with some of the off the field issues.

Despite what some people may say about the Yankees, I actually think that they will win 95 games and go to the World Series only to lose to the San Francisco Giants.  The three main reasons: 1) Betances, 2) Miller, and 3) Chapman.  The Yankees record when leading after six innings can be very good based on that bullpen.  Last April, a lot of people got on me when I said that Yankkees would make the postseason.  Well in late July, the Yankees had a 7.5 game lead in their division.  For some reason though, Brian Cashman opted not to make any trades to improve the team which the Mets and Blue Jays did.  If you're a Yankee fan, you hope that he makes reinforcements.  But I think you guys will be pleasantly surprised with your team this year.

I love our bullpen and SS-2B combo in Didi and Starlin. Everything else is blah. We'll see.

It's going to be about 35 degrees for game time today with wind chills in the 20's.

That should pretty much finish off Tanaka's elbow. They may as well schedule his Tommy John Surgery for this Friday and get it over with.

Love the offense and bullpen early on. Starting rotation is a little concerning.

Swisher signed a minor league deal. He has a base hit so far tonight. Not sure if we'll have a roster spot for him but it'll be interesting to see what they do

Re: 2016 Yankees Season

I am sticking with my pre-season prediction of the Yankees winning 95 games and going to the WS. That factored in Chapman's absence in the first five weeks of the season. I knew that once he returned, they would start going on a run. I wonder if Brian Cashman will attempt to make a trade for a starting pitcher to add to the rotation. I think what killed the Yankees season last year was their lack of mid-season trades, which the Blue Jays and Mets did plenty of. This had the Yankees settle for the wild-card where the lost the one-game playoff to the Astros at Yankee Stadium.
