Jman, forget the maps look at the results.
NYC has had 30 inches of snow this year, LI 30-40 inches and Boston has had 17 inches. So far it has not been their year.

Frank, is the LP over Virginia the secondary one you thought might develop?

I'm with you Mugsy You beat me to it. Part of living on the coast is that it is a constantly shifting mass of sand. Why do people get so bent out of shape when there's coastal flooding and beach erosion? It's nature doing her thing. If not this storm there's always the next one. If people are that worried move!

Another low strengthens too far off the coast and heads OTS on the NAM.

No, that's a weak surface low from the IVT. I was thinking a secondary low may develop on the west side of the ocean storm. Doesn't look likely but still plausible. I'm waiting for the RGEM.

RGEM is east. May have to shut the door on Mondays storm and see if we can manage to get something from Tuesdays event. I'll keep this thread alive until tomorrow morning. Obviously 1st call snow map in jeopardy of busting.

No biggie Frank.
This winter I've gone by the motto expect little, receive less. It keeps the disappointment level down.
Who knows what the next runs bring, maybe a reverse back for the better.

I'm very curious as to what the next SREF run gives? Will it stand on what it has the last two runs or does it cave to the other runs?

Re: February 8, 2016 Snowfall Observations & Discussions
The 3Z SREFs have also, to some extent, backed off on it. A few members show the Monday snow but not many show the Tuesday snow. Honestly, it would not surprise me if CPK (which is at 29.7" for the seasonal snow total) does NOT reach the snow total of 30" by this time next week.

Although not a problem for most, LI esp eastern sections still stands a chance at accumulations with this system. High RH still makes it into LI. Still think last minute westward jog is possible. 10-20miles
