Zoo,

I had pea sized hail in the monsoon t-storm and 38mph winds yesterday in my car going to old tappan by Vale restaurant in River Vale - had to pull over it was like a white out but with rain and hail - only if it 30* out would have been 1-2"" of snow hahaha - maybe tomorrow sista!

holy crap this may b coming in higher than expected. The leading edge is not that far away. I think there go b widespread 55 to 60 and coastal areas and li may see near hurricane force. Mix it in with some heavy snow and we all happy.

latest hrrr

that band over nnj through thtough the city is just insane. that would put down a quick couple of inches.
4k nam doesn't give us much snow. It has heavy convection as rain. do not think that is right. once the front passes any  convective band should be cold enough for some heavy snows. alarm clock set for 3am.lol

Already a seemingly more active severe season this year than all of last year put together. Gives me hope for the summer. Current obs 47 degrees, very heavy winds, absolute lightning lightshow outside and insane thunder symphony to boot. Rain coming down heavier now.

Winds should die down north of the City, but they should remain relatively strong in the City on South.

This is what happens when you have the warmest Nov-March in history. I have a a couple of flowering tress that started to bloom in the last few days that in a normal year don't bloom until the first week in May.

With 3 inches of snow this morning, more of the same tonight and temperatures in the teens some nights this week, many trees that bloomed a month prematurely will suffer serious damage.

Re: April Obs & Discussion

Post by amugs on Mon Apr 04, 2016 10:48 am

Why are we getting all this now as one is asking scratching their heads - collapsing nino (Finally) and the PDO still holding strong - warm water off teh WC - pumping the EPO and thus the feedback is causing the AO or PV to dive SE this time of year and help pump block or the heights to rise over Greenland. This is what was thought to occur a couple of month ago with a dying nino and this feedback loop process but guess what - NADA!! So here we have it and my expectation is cold and wintry for this week and into the weekend. This cold air coming in woudl have rivaled the below zero temps we had in Feb if it were during that or earlier time frame

1.2 has an uptick yes but it is collapsing overall

RAGING PDO - since 2013 peeps

I'm concerned about black ice tonight here in NNJ. Rain all day today and temps in the 20's overnight does not sit well with me....
