The storms over East Central PA just north of Allentown are legit. Look to be heading straight for New York City metro. looks like we're going to get hit good today. already had a heavy shower here in White Plains.

Had to go to Cornwall for work today and got hit with a monster of a t storm. one of those storms that always weaken by the time it reaches the city. I was actually kind of nervous driving. I left as it was coming down and eventually drove out of it to blazing heat around NYC. Heavy rain/T storm now breaking out in the bx, wind is nothing like in Orange country though

SPC upped to enhanced for the area and a small area of tornoado potential, though low.

The amount of warnings with the second line is insane, there has be at least a dozen. Main threat is 60mph winds and hail up to quarter size, I think these will hold together this time.

Sun coming out here again, car said 95, with humidity felt hotter, so knocked a few degrees off cuz car is always too high. A lot of damage reports coming on on the second line and futurecast radar shows a very intensie solid line moving through NYC are around 7:30pm.

looks like squall line developing in eastern pa. as jman said they should strengthen as they head towards us which is not usually the case.

Second tornado warning just issued in lacawana county in PA, these are def getting potent.

The instability is actually higher here than in PA, cape is around 1550 j/kg bulk shear 36, scp 3 (this is high and signifieds supercell potential). SO as stated I wouldn't be surprised to see this line look even worse as it starts to head into NJ and eastern NY.

Just got a phone alert flash flood warning emergency yonkers. Woah 1-2 inch per hour rates locally more through 8pm, yikes, looks like the squall line might be weakening slightly due to the batch in front of it.

flash flood warning now for immediate nyc metro. manhattan bkln and queens getting slammed now. 77* dew point in cpk.

Just got hit with a very bad severe cell here. Torrential rain, frequent lightning, and wind gusts strong enough to shake my house. Starting to calm down a bit now but it was roaring for about 20 minutes here.

All of the severe parameters around NYC are skyrocketing, SCP is now 7, ive never seen that here. We will see what happens, seems the warnings are getting less widespread but lets see what happens when the big line moves into this instability, the most unstable air is ahead of the main line.

The big stuff is just south of me in manhattan grrr, everything always seems to miss here, i do not see flash flooding unless that line intensifys, that one area is still going strong and looks to be headed right for metro area.

wow...Jman needed your windometer!! that was really intense. My house was rattling and the last time it did that was during Sandy!! I wonder how strong the winds were...still storming, but not as intense...there was just a waterfall of water all around us!! we were at 90* and real feel of over 100* before the storm..my therm now reads 68*
