Man o man. Today was a fabulous day. The rest of the week will not be like today. Heat and humidity returns with temps in the upper 80s to low 90s. We'll probably see a heat wave by the middle of the week into the weekend.

Just another perfect day today high of 80 degrees low humidity can't get better than this for the middle of July. Expect more of the same the next 7 days except for Friday when temperatures May reach the low 90s with falling dew points though. all other days highs in the mid-to-upper 80s with comfortable dew points except Thursday. Even if we do get some heat towards the end of the month really can't complain about this July fantastic so far and definitely unexpected. Very Happy

Heat Advisory for tomorrow issued for all of NJ except the northwestern corner of the state.

NWS discussion is considering the same for NYC but so far no.

Ugg its so gosh awqeful humid out, wait till the sun comes out. I think though the SPC feels the area is low chance there will be some big storms here and there. Just north of city is in slight area. Cape index is already over 1500 in southern jersey and around 600 around nyc. shear is also moderate. We will see, not expecting any big outbreak but I think with this kid of atmosphere someone will see a good storm later.

I am very surprised there is no heat advosry for NYC or Westchester but across on the other side of the Hudson river it is? So if you cross the Hudson its go be much cooler than on the NJ side, I love the NWS.

Frank be really careful even in your young age this weather is dangerous to do that kind of thing, surprised they not holding off honestly. I had heat stroke twice when I was a landscaper, drink as much as possible, like a ridiculous amount water and yes Gatorade, and not the G2, as much as its got less sugar its not as hydrating. And if you must run it WIN!

The cloud cover making today more bearable then if the sun was out. The high dew points are making it uncomfortable. temperature is not too bad 82* dp 72.

This side of the Hudson is where a south wind becomes an ocean breeze. Not a strong sea breeze is expected but a degree or two is probably enough to keep heat index below advisory threshold. You need heat index of 100+, or 95+ for consecutive days.
NWS had 100* heat index forecasted for my zip but they often have upper Manhattan, most of Bx into very southern Westchester as a localized hotspot. Further removed from the Atlantic than the rest of NYC but still relatively flat and highly urbanized..but 90% of NYC will fall short so no point in issuing an advisory. SW instead of S wind would of done it.

Well I know it has much to do with the potential for severe weather and the higher the number the greater the potential here is information about cape.

Al looks like the sun is starting to peak, it is the humidity and that's what I cannot stand, the actual temperature is not obscene, but the humidity is unbearable to me anyways. especially in long pants.

NAM shows a strong to svr line coming through around 4-5pm, great timing for rush hour. I tried to post the NAM but it says my file is not allowed, that's odd.

Wow HRRR has cape values getting near 3000 j/kg for some areas around city. Also shows STP (significant tornado potential) elevated north of the city into Hudson valley.
