Seriously? I measured only 3 inches cannot believe you have double a few miles away thats crazy. I am literally at the bx border mclean exit.
That a stretch but at this rate 7 is possible esp over on your side.
3 still in yonkers? The last 2 hrs been going all out, you missing that band?

Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
Thats what I measured in several places, no its been snowing hard but its been quite windy so I may have to wait to see a trained spotter reading from NWS, hopefully there is one for yonkers.Dtone wrote:jmanley32 wrote:frank 638 wrote:dtone i think we are at 6 inches now 20 *with heavy snow winds are picking up do u think we will see 8 0r 10 inches if this stays like this

Still snowing here about 4.5" this has been one of the best rural around storms in 12 hours since the boxer day blizzard.

Boxing day Blizzard 20-36 inches region wide for our area, comparing to today, that's a bit of a stretch, but you're excused because you called this one well. Good job ex-king.
I'm shocked I received 2.0 inches.

Getting very hard to measure with the wind drifting it all, but taking an average of all measurements, looks like around 7" or so, but snowfall rate seems to be about 1" per hour. Heaviest and biggest flakes ive seen all day

About an hour ago, I measured 5" of snow. Since then, however, the snowfall rates have REALLY picked up! Perhaps I will get at least another hour of snow of this rate here in Bellerose!

Cp, comparison for turn around metric only. Ni way does this compare in terms of storm at all, correct. Thanks for the approval and shout out on calling this one oh OTI overthrower!!CPcantmeasuresnow wrote:amugs wrote:Still snowing here about 4.5" this has been one of the best rural around storms in 12 hours since the boxer day blizzard.

Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
Up to 2.3 inches now and the steady light to occasionally moderate snow continues.
2.5 covers the front lawn completely so hoping for those last .2 inches.

Also 8" in Bayville (Coastal Ocean County). What a blessed day...snowed HARD all day! No dry sockets, no mixing, just pure fluffy snow for over 12 hours...
