Congratulations - Advanced Forecasters Empty Congratulations - Advanced Forecasters

Post by Frank_Wx Sat Jan 07, 2017 2:38 pm

This winter we have seen many new members join the NJ Strong forum. The intention of this site is to educate people on various Meteorological topics, as well as, inform about future weather events while providing the most accurate and transparent information. I've met many of you at our annual get togethers and it's amazing to see the passion you all bring here every day.

I created a new group tag called "Advanced Forecaster" to call out the people who I feel provide top notch analysis day in and out. They may not have the Meteorologist degree, but their knowledge of the content is second to none. They deserve to be recognized. The members are:

Sroc4 - Scott has the most detailed and best written posts I've ever seen. He really breaks it down so the average person knows what's happening. He will continue being my co-admin. I am lucky to have him here.
NJWeatherGuy - he has not posted much this winter, but I enjoy reading his posts and I've known him dating back to the Eyewitness Chat Board. He is someone who sticks to his guts and I admire that.
amugs - the energy Al brings to this forum just makes onlookers feel happy inside. He has grown immensely as forecaster and is someone I feel has potential to get even better.
aiannone - Alex is another guy I've know for awhile and studied Meteorology in school. His knowledge is much appreciated and easy to follow.
Isotherm - this guy scares me. In a good way. His analysis makes Meteorologist's look silly. His long range forecasting skills are nothing short of magical.
Armando Salvadore - a new member to the forum, but his presence quickly made an impact. He provides high level analysis and exerts positive energy.
algae888 - Al is a stand up guy and a great forecaster. I've seen a lot of growth from him over the years and feel he possesses great potential.
QuietAce - Ryan is studying to be a Meteorologist. It will not be long until his tag changes to blue. He's homegrown talent who I've known since the Eyewitness Chat Board days too. I admire his passion and willingness to learn.

Congratulations to all of you.

I also want to shout out the Meteorologist's who post on NJ Strong:

rb (Ray), WeatherBob, Analog96, and Bobby Martrich

Thank you all for your contributions. I am sure the members of the forum greatly value your input.

Here is the legend so you know what the colors mean:

Congratulations - Advanced Forecasters Legend

Frank,
U should all know that this young man many of us have known since the old days of channel 7 weather forum.
I can remember when I joined then I asked who was this kid and how was he. 16 at the time and I always sad to him he had a great future ahead of him. 4 years ago he started this forum that I joined immediately.
If it wasn't for Frank tjis place would not be possible and I would not as many of us wouldn't have the opportunity to share and learn our passion for weather. I have met a good few of u personally. Very nice people and smart.
I was a total novice when I jpined but listen and reading Frank and Sroc write I have learned so much and did my own home wor in learning, heck I am a teacher so WE ARE ALL LIFELONG LEARNER.

All of the forecasters here,Ray, Greg, Weather bob, Armando,  Bobby and Tom I have learned from u gebts as well. Isotherm - Tom - boggles my mind with his long range and terminology met him on another board and learned greatly from him as well.

I am humbled and honored to be considered an advances forecaster and mumy enthusiasm for winter at irm, white gold, nor'eaters and hcane is bar none. I have always lok liked at the glass as half filled since I was a young boy BUT when I died and came back when I was 23 REALLY made me even that much more appreciative of life and of course weather.

Frank thanks for the kind words. It's a pleasure being part of this board and I've learned a lot the last several years from the many knowledgeable posters here. I wish there was something like this when I was your age. When I was a kid besides the two minute weather forecast on the six o'clock news all I had was the National Weather Service radio updates at 4:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. what a different world we live in now
Edit I should add 1010 WINS with Elliot Abrams and dr. Joe Sobel.

Appreciate it. Thanks Frank. Haven't been very excited with these nuisance events thus far and been very busy at work hence not posting very much. If we have a storm that actually has a chance of putting down warning level snows over most of the area you will hear a lot more from me but I just see another train of GLCs coming unfortunately. This pattern is a huge let down thus far! Just transient cold shots with everything just not working out for a snowstorm... (I realize the shore and east got it with this last one, but another nuisance bore fest for a majority of the area)

So first off Frank I would like to thank you for the very kind words. They are much appreciated and I am lucky and proud to be your co-admin of IMHO the best board around. I would also like to recognize all the others mentioned by Frank and I agree with everything said 100%. In addition to the people mentioned the rest of the unmentioned, from the individual members who post regularly to the occasional poster, to even the ones that remain quite in the background; its the collection of all of us with Frank at the helm that collectively make this board so great. So here is a collective thank you and pat on all of our backs.

I would also like to echo some of Mugsy's thoughts about our leader Frank. I too first ran across this kid over at the accuweather 7online chat board run by Bill Evans. I remember looking forward to his updates about a storm potential coming in every day around 8pm. Ill never forget how impressed I was when I found out that it was a teenager posting rather than some adult. Frank I told you then that you were destined for great things and its been fantastic watching you achieve great things. I'm glad I have gotten to meet you as well as many others on this board, and encourage as many of you who are a part of this board to try and make it to a meet n greet if you can. Anyway that is enough warm and fuzzy talk. Back to the weather.

Congrats to all of  you for such a wonderful job with your explanations and the way you all keep the board lively...no bickering, fighting or pettiness...(I did peak on some other boards and people are vicious..so did not go back)and for being so dedicated....I love all of the knowledge you bring together as a group...my only neg would be the description of a storm only being a "P.H. away".....eeeewwwww...boy bathroom humor....lol....Have a great day fellas!! Can't wait to track the next one!!

Thanks to you all. I remember the old channel 7 board and to this day you guys are my go to for all weather but most likely snow chance because of work. Guys at work always say how come he's talking about snow and nothing on news or anywhere. I say I'm part of this weather board and these guys are great and most of them are not professional meteorologist. They use to laugh at me and then they realized the consistency of what I was saying a storm is coming. Now they ask how much we getting when does it start ECT.... I have learned so much from all of you thank you

Frank -- just seeing this now. Thank you very much for the kind words and recognition. I'm glad to be a part of this great board. I think the collective talent on here is excellent, and you yourself Frank, are quite the long range forecaster as well! I appreciate that you forecast with objectivity - a trait that seems to be quite rare with forecasters! Congratulations everyone on a successful weather board.
