My input is that your news outlets should put down the crack pipe and slowly back away. QPF is huge and I don't think temps will be THAT much of a problem.

If some of the latest guidance is correct is going to be precipitation type issues for Eastern Long Island and Central and Southern New Jersey. I would still expect at least 6 inches in both locations and possibly more on Eastern Long Island

I think NYC in a great spot too, I am thinking no less than a foot, but ill be conservative and say 10, but I bet if these higher amount models are right we see possibly close to double that.

Temp down to 53, getting a bit cooler, from that map earlier the 30s are not far away. the quicker they get her the better chance we have at no rain. The radar also already looks impressive with the system and its nothing yet.

What is this sleeve thing, is it a superstition thing for him? Or is it just something he subconsciously does when he gets amped about a storm?

Here is uptons disco...

Low pressure deepens rapidly Thursday morning as it tracks
toward the 40N/70W benchmark. Strong upper jet approaches, and
impressive lift, frontogenesis sets up over the CWA. Bands of
heavy snow, with convective nature to the precip possible.

Expect snowfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour for a short time
in the morning, and low level jet of 45 kt may impact eastern
Long Island in the morning into the early afternoon. These
stronger winds will cause blizzard conditions for Suffolk
county, and blizzard warning has been posted.

Winter Storm warning remains in effect elsewhere.

Snowfall amounts should average around a foot, with certainly
higher amounts expected in heavier bands, convection.

The snow tapers in the afternoon from west to east, progressive
system, but blowing snow will occur.

Temperatures will fall during the day as northerly winds pick up
drawing colder air southward as the low bombs.

"Highs" occur in the morning.

Lows will be quite cold at night as the storm pulls away, from
around 10 to the teens.

Sounds like the snow will be heavy and wet to begin with, but be less so as the temps drop. Hopefully gets easier to shovel. So better to get er done before the bottom drops out temp wise tomorrow nite.
