JMan, I don't know what it's like by you, but this afternoon has been some of the strongest winds of the entire winter for me. I keep looking outside to make sure my roof isn't sitting in my backyard.

Finished with 12" putting me at 33.95 for the season. Another above avg snow season with more on the table.  Really nice storm.  Great job Frank, Ray, Armando et al.  You all did a phenomenal job!

On a side note just got the call from the district.  School's closed tomorrow due to hazardous road conditions.  scratch GFS Model

Hard to believe the HV and LI ended up with similar totals today with some in between scrooed but the models did show that duel streak and Ray and others, I think including yourself, had pointed it out, and damn if it didn't verify.

Yeah it was pretty impressive and like you said earlier the NAM did a great job identifying the banding. I would have had a higher total if I didn't have that 2 hrs of sleet this morning. Could have easily been an extra 2 may be 3" with the rates we saw this am once it went back to all snow. That's the difference between me and Jimmy.

You said it weathermom, but unfort my wife now has what I had a few weeks ago, flu like bug, and will be stuck home with them while I'm at work.  She was realy hoping for a day to herslf to rest.

This is what we did all day today.  Made forts.  This was my sons private fort.  We had a much bigger one that we all fit in to the left.  lol   Snow sure takes me back.

11" total 24" for season. Just finished shoveling wasn't too Pleasant especially now that I'm getting older. And Jon the winds are howling have to be 40 mile an hour gusts stronger than the wind storm the other day but with the snow blowing around it was beautiful

I'm at 36" for the season.  Scott question.  The snow by me was compact and wet, especially the bottom half.  the top half was powdery.  The confusing part was the radar by you looked SOOOOOOOO much better from 11:00 am till 3 p.m.  What happened that you only wound up with 12"? Lower ratios, or the 2 hours of sleet?  I had no sleet.  and on a side note look at the pictures.  I measured in five different spots.  The towns near me better have measured at least 15" or something is really f'd up..

Plainview Ny and Woodbury, on the NWS sight the 2 towns nearest me were 13" and 12.5" at 1:00 p.m. there was easilly 3" after that!!!

22° Feels like 6°
NW 24 mph

I measured 6.4 but there was a lot of blowing around. I don't know how accurate it is.

Got 7 inches here in Pittston PA, windy as all hell too! I did around 20 driveways, with one I need to do tomorrow, and maybe redo some tomorrow due to the wind blowing it all around. Sorry, didn't read all the posts. Had a good bit of slush under the snow as well, which is now frozen...

When is the next one? Need to do it all over again!

Without question the two hrs of sleet played a role in our differences. Also when the precip first moved in it started as rain for me then transitioned to snow then back to sleet then to thumping snow. Watching the 0*c line at 925 and 850 early this am it was oriented SW to NE as it hit the coast. Same with the freezing lol me at the surface. It it likely got to you before me. I likely had a lot of catching up to do. I also had a period where it almost stopped for like an HR or so around 2pm before picking back up again for a few more hrs. If you sat under 1-2" /HR during those times that's likely the difference. I ain't complaining about a foot

wow a 5 day weekend!! kids must be in heaven! I have a feeling we might get delayed if it is icy tom morning...

Your son is adorable!!..Forts and hanging out time is the best..we are not at the parents are not cool stage yet...but its coming  Sad  ..and Oh I am so sorry to hear about your wife....I feel for her...none of us have ever had the flu before...(we have been lucky that our flu shots have worked in the past.until this year..no so lucky)...son's school is riddled with the flu and stomach bug...he missed  7 school days.and lost 7 pounds.also .had husband just home from hospital after  major surgery and could not have him get sick...had to camps set up in this house...kept telling them if I go down the ship is going down...lol... son still is not right..he went out today to play and he  came in and took a nap... I hope she feels better fast and really hope  kids don't get it...and that you feel 100 percent soon!!!
