Question: Is it best to look at the 12k, the 4k or the 3k on the NAM?

Frank,
Your opinion on the winds.....LI, NYC and JS......Your map showing the sustained w/gusts could be a major issue with cold temps wed and thurs.

I'm confused. On the NWS website we are shown to have a 90% chance IMBY of 12"+. Then on the Same Web Site we are shown to have a 60% chance of greater than 12" and now this shows almost no chance of greater than 12". Really Confusing

12k NAM: 10"
4k NAM: 16"

Should I just split the difference?

One thing is still very apparent; models still have zero idea of what to do with banding. One mega-band, two parallel bands, bandlets? This depends on H5 and the how the jets evolve.

Southern westchester, or general area just north of NYC (I know you do not like IMBY questions, sorry) but will rations be any higher than 10:1 or will those insane winds keep it at 10:1? Also how confident are you that winds will reach or exceed 60mph gusts in your red area? What do u think ceiling is?
