lglickman1 wrote:Frank_Wx wrote:The progression at H5 over the last few days has been very interesting to me. It's no secret the duration of this storm has shortened rather significantly, but to see 700mb/850mb low's track over or just east of our area tells me many should remain cold. Unfortunately 500mb low closes off late or remains open the entire time. Important 12z runs today. No doubt about it.
How accurate are the models in predicting whether or not H5 will close?
Pretty accurate. Let's see if any of the 12z models close it off.

REG NAM looks about 25 miles east of 06z.
PARA NAM coming into range now. Keep an eye on upper right to distinguish the two.

Oh wow. Looking real good Frank. At this point in the game, being so close to the actual event, which map (NAM vs. PARA NAM) and solution do you trust the most? Or is a combination of the two?
Anyway looks like that same bullseye keeps showing up in NEPA. Would LOVE to see that shift just a little SW into Sussex County but I ain't complaining, anything over 12 inches for me is a true win this late in the year.
I'll be getting my bourbon on tonight for sure....

You and me both. Bottle of Bourbon and minimum 12 pack, may have to upgrade projections to a 24 pack should this thing really unload on NEPA/NW Jersey like the models seem to be suggesting. But it does look like almost everyone should be pleased with this run thus far.
