Grselig, this is a wonderful idea and I think it is very therapeutic to boot.I know I am on a Mainland posting area , but I am going to incorporate snow blower vaporization at the OTI Sanitarium as a substitute for electroshock therapy in severe cases of Snow Deprivation Syndrome.

It sucks the Yankees lost, I'm a huge fan. However, has anyone seen the forecast in LA right now? triple digits and they also might set the opening game World Series temperature record of 94 and hit 95. Wow, the country is frying pan right now.

Doc, you are a genius. Although a Dr. of Stox, you certainly have the ideas and credential for a medical doctor with the suffix CWT (Cold Weather Therapist) of the highest order. I'm planning a lengthily visit to OTI

Post by sroc4 Thu Oct 26, 2017 6:48 pm

This popped up on my news feed on FB as a memory on this day Oct 26th 2012:

This is a quote from Bill Evans Meterologist from ABC's Channel 7 news.

There are times in our jobs where it becomes difficult to explain the concerns related to a storm. Usually there are plenty of uncertainties that give pause to mentioning potential problems. We always want to be cautious in over predicting trouble while at the same time not limiting thepossibilities of issues associated with a storm system. In this case I'm not sure we can overplay the problems of Sandy's arrival. The storm track position and timing will be key to the amount of problems that occur for any given location. A strong storm surge along the New Jersey Coast seems likely with a long and strong fetch. This could back up storm drains and sewer systems that rely on feeding into the Atlantic Ocean. This, of course, will extend up to Long Island and could have major issues over the Sandy Hook region (Irony?).
All the storm surge build up being blocked by Long Island on the north side and New Jersey on the west side can only lead to serious flooding conditions. Along with the surge, the rain and wind will also contain issues of their own. Rain will likely lead to localized flooding and flash flooding. Wind gusts along the coast will be as high as 100 mph with gusts over 70 mph for areas inland all the way westward through I-81. The GFS is showing winds over 50 mph as far west as Pittsburgh and past 40 mph to Buffalo.
Once over land it will continue to wander around slowly around the Middle Atlantic and Northeast. Again it will depend on the position of the system and the vary degrees of rainfall.
Make your plans now for dealing with Sandy and put those into action today and no later than tomorrow.

Depressed about the Yankees losing in 7. Didn't like Gerardi losing his job although he did drive me insane at times. Thoroughly depressed about Penn State losing by one point to the credit buckeyes.

But the most depressing thing is looking at my 15 day forecast and seeing highs in the 50s and 60s every freaking day. A horrible fall so far and it looks like for at least the next 15 days it continues.

Given how this will likely be the warmest October on record and given that November looks warm right out of the gate, I guess we might as well get the warmth out of the way now. That being said, I hope it shuts down by Thanksgiving and into December. Of all the months I do not want to feature warmth, December is the one I really don't want to be that. Unfortunately, Decembers as of late have been on the warm side and don't get me started on December 2015. Mad

LOL, CP, you Yankee Fans crack me up.DEPRESSED???? You were one game from the World Series with a team that was expected to just be in rebuilding mode.Your team has the makings of a dynasty, and you guys are 'depressed",LOL.Tell you what.I'll trade you lock, stock and barrel Yanks for Mets, the entire team, right now! Firing Girardi is low class but I've seen the Yanks do this before.Way beofre your time, they fired Casey Stengel as a result of Mazoroski hitting that home run in 1960, as if Stengel was Ralph Terry, the pitcher. I was a Yankee Fan then and was listening to that 1960 Series game on the way home from school on Japanese transistor radio. All Stengel did was win the Yanks the World Series in '47,'49,'50,'51,'52,'53,'56 and'58!!!!

https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=mcafee&p=who+pitched+to+bill+mazoroski+in+1960#id=1&vid=28b20a16b0094090038b854f600f3ffd&action=click

I will agree with you on this warm fall.THAT'S depression worthy for sure!!!

Did anyone see the latest GFS model run for Nov 9th, verbatim its a big snowstorm for interior areas including upper hudson valley but especially in MA and of course beantown, but good thing its 8 days away IF it were to happen plenty of time to change, but, I highly doubt it with the temps we had, its just starting to get cooler out and not snow temps. All 3 models have this system that dives out of canada and forms a LP off the coast, another noreaster, will it be cold enough?
