December 9 2017 storm - Final Snow Totals

NYC (Central Park and Laguardia) both finished with 4.6 inches, Newark 4.3. So the Conservancy is 1 for 1 so far this year and measured after 7pm, but can it last?

Highland Mills in Orange County 6.2 inches, a winter wonderland if ever there was one.

Doc I'm a little disappointed in your reporting all day. What kind of measurement is eyeballing? A long time pro like yourself knows better.

The place not to be for this storm Newport Rhode Island 1.0 inch. Mixing issues all day there with rain sleet and snow back and forth. Unfortunately I was there all day and evening to see it first hand. So glad to be back in the self proclaimed snow capital of the tri state area.

The audacity of castigating an arthritic, 67 year old for not posting hourly snow measurements!! Seriously, great to see you back CP, this board is not the same without you my friend! Final total here next to you south and west a tad is 6 inches.A wonderful surprise after NWS had us down for only 1 to 3 overall.Looks like another chance Monday night into Tuesday for 2 to 4.

The axis of the heaviest snow for most of the storm was def a tad further N&W then most if not all modeling had it. My temp hovered at 33.3* all day so even when I did get under a few of the better bands MBY still struggled with poor ratios. The price you pay to live on an island in an early Dec snow fall with no HP to the North. Like Syo mentioned the bands that came through later once the sun came down helped me recover a little.

My official snow total is 2.75". Wading River, NY

Just under 5” here IMBY. I’ll call it 4.5”
