Continued heavy snowfall here in Hopatcong. Winds are just insane. Blowing snow everywhere.
The fact that this pancake batter consistency snow is being drifted and blown around up here like it is really attests to the power of this storm.

You can see my house located just next to the little purple pin where there is a rain snow mix and then the area NW of Poughkeepsie near my parents place where they are still at less than 1” Hume surrounded on all sides by close to a foot or more. It’s unexplainable. Someone needs to archive this and explain it. It goes against logic
Someone I know in Middletown NY has 2 inches otg right now and at the same elevation 2 miles to his west and east they have a foot. I've never seen anything like that in these parts. If we got stuck under that today I'd be losing my mind.
WTH was that and why did it last so long. WEIRD!!!!

Doc. You and CP are going to make a run at 20” here while higher elevations to the north are mixing still

Jimmy, that NAM map had CP and Me for 17 which I thought was a clown map.We might make a run at that.We just are in the right spot for this storm.Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.

It was a clown map. That same effin NAM had me getting 13” and my pops getting 23”. I’m at .5” and he’s just at 1”. I’m getting to the point have having a mental breakdown. The radar shows me under intense snow for the past two hours and I haven’t see no flake. I’m so done

It looks like it's trying very hard to change over in the city. Plain rain now to white rain - more white than rain.

Yep, weather can be a cruel mistress.Cp and I have been virgarized, seeing dark blue over us for hours with not a flake and then being subject to the Hudson River Force Field, where none of the heavy bands came over us but stayed East by you guys.Like poker, Jimmy, you gotta play out a bad hand.Still think you will get a quick 4 to 6 when this moves East.Hang in there.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
I think I’m done posting for awhile. I’ve reached the boiling point. This storm forecast was a bust except for 5% of the board. Shit my map was accurate and I don’t know what the hell im doing. No one can claim they forecast this thing right. Enjoy folks I’m going to drink heavily now. Congrats to the HV people and poconos.

Re: March 2nd Nor'easter Update
I'm seeing the flakes, but they are not sticking in any way. I think the cold air is beating the warm air in terms of precip type, but the warm air is winning where the rubber meats the road. The intensity of the snow has let up a lot in the last hour, I think some mixing may have set in...
End of the 3rd qtr, and the warm air is winning 9-6, cold air hasn't moved the ball since early in the 1st half.

This wind is brutal. Just got home and it’s tearing up my yard. My fence is hanging by a thread, one of my downspouts is dislodged. Hoping the roof stays on.

I can confirm. It's seems to be back and forth here on the Upper East Side.

frank it seems they are lightening up or is it just a lull due to no precip here now. which is odd cuz radar shows snow.Frank_Wx wrote:Wind is awful. Huge trees down everywhere.
