Since the 22nd page is now full, by quoting this, we can continue this discussion.

Congratulations Ryan! As Janet mentioned on the prior page, I hope I can see you before you head to Florida.

Won't be long until Frank or Scott put you in the Meteorologist group on this forum!

Thanks, everyone! Five more years of school still, I see this as a plus rather than a minus though... It will be nice to get paid rather than pay for it as well.

In case anyone else is interested in going, I registered today. It does fill up quickly, so register soon! You need to send a check to the address listed. They are trying to get the wording on the website corrected, it's a little confusing!

Yep it sucks.

Below Prince and Tom Petty performing together at the rock 'n roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony for George Harrison in 2004. Very ironic and sad both died from an accidental overdose of prescription painkillers that each of them was taking for various physical ailments they had from the rigors of touring. They both should be with us still.

Least favorite special weather statement that pops up on my phone all summer (and even sometimes in winter)? “Enhanced Wildfire Threat.” I’m sure it has value to someone somewhere but I’ve never heard of a wildfire in the borough of Somerville or in Sea Isle City. And I’m not sure what I’d do different anyway. It’s not like I’m sloppy about starting fires when there ISN’T an enhanced wildfire threat. Neutral

Reports say that the military plane that crashed today in Georgia was a WC-130J based out of Puerto Rico and used for Weather Reconnaissance...

Check out a new book:  http://www.papress.com/html/product.details.dna?isbn=9781616896638

A storm chaser’s view
In The Big Cloud, photographer Camille Seaman stands in front of tornados, at the edge of lightning storms, and in pelting hail under pitch-black skies to capture supercells and mammatus clouds in their often sublime and sometimes terrifying splendor.

“Equal parts terrifying and beautiful, gathering storm clouds force the reader to stop, look—and breathe,” writes the Star Tribune. “Words never get in the way, allowing [Seaman's] photos to gather power, page to page.”

I didn't like the first Deadpool and haven't seen the second, so I can't comment on that. I've heard fantastic things about Black Panther, though. I can definitely agree with you on the blu-ray; the quality is amazing. My parents have had a player for a while and it's sick!! Definitely jealous of the upgraded tv, but I have an honest question about that: Is it worth it? I mean, isn't the highest quality of broadcast gonna be stuck at 1080p for a long time? I know most stations have just been able to upgrade to that within the last couple years, and there is a tremendous hurdle to get over to go beyond that resolution. I've heard (and read) that the only real benefit of a tv that can support that is for streaming from platforms like Netflix, Hulu, etc. what's your opinion? I'm not much of a tech-guy, so this is an honest question, not trolling lol

JB just put out a fantastic post on WeatherBell Premium pretty much covering the playing field of issues at present. I particularly liked his segment regarding our underground communities because he's right, and it's something I have stressed in past discussions as well. I can't post it here ATM as I'm on mobile, but if you have a subscription or somebody else has the time to post it here, I HIGHLY recommend the read. Has me FIRED UP now haha

Hey guys, this should be in general banter. But as long as we're here, is blu-ray worth it? It doesn't seem to have caught on as far as I can tell.

blu ray? Its been a billion dollar industry for many years its out dated now lol. Blu ray is now the DVD we had of 15 years ago. Something new should b coming along soon. Go to yard sales you can get them for a dollar or two and yes quality is great. They are 1080p versus I think less than 480 on DVD.

Not surprising you cut it down to those two ahaha it makes sense that the movie channels would be the first to advance, but in terms of networks and regular tv it's gonna be a while, I think.

Welcome back to NJ Ryan. Hopefully you get some good beach weather here before heading to Florida. And I guess you’ll be getting there just in time for the height of hurricane season.
