I am not subscribed to weatherbell but if anyone has additional insight I am curios to know.
Clearly many did not foresee the winter turning out the way it has so far.

This winter will provide invaluable learning material for many of the LR folks. A very humbling demonstration of how incredibly complex weather prediction is. My hats go off to all that put the time in and continue to learn.

Agree 100% heehaw.
What's happening up there? Is the atmosphere trying to tell us something? I sure hope not. Is there an emoji for a pouting 4 yr old covering his ears b/c he doesn't want to hear it?

Looks like the alamanac will be right. Some people on here said something about it saying cold and snowy. Not sure which one they read, the one I read pretty much said, soggy and milder.

LOL.Cue the classic line from Blue Oyster Cult....."history proves again and again how nature destroys the folly of men"! Back to the drawing board on these long range models.Mother Nature threw a s__t fit this winter and busted out the Long Range forecasts.

A year ago today we had the "bomb cyclone", blizzard conditions... ended up with 7.75", was just a tad too far east, but made for great satellite images

Anyone know how many weekends we have had rain in the past 6 months? I'm guessing it's a lot.

Rain in the past 6-7 months in general has been too much. I guess one thing is for sure, we don't have to worry about lack of moisture. Springtime there should be no issue with these trees blooming. As a matter of fact, if this current pattern continues oh, we're going to see a lot of trees and plants start to bloom early. Some people on this message board have already said that some of their trees are starting to produce bulbs.

Sorry syo, it was an awesome storm though, yet a week later it turned warm and rain coupled with the melting snow caused havoc. Lets hope for a role reversal this year...syosnow94 wrote:Radz wrote:Snow drought is killing me. Blizzard of '96

Referring to long term thread. Doc and CP. yes i agree. Getting invested emotionally is dangerous and i can’t avoid it. Roller coaster is happening again. We need something or there is going to be roof jumping. the indicators may seem in place but if no production it’s wasted.

100% agree. I think we need 3-6" good faith snowfall from this winter pretty soon. KU's are awesome, but i'm at the point now where 3-6" will feel like a KU event.

My daffodils are about an inch up out of the ground atm. That's not that uncommon, as they are in a sunny spot, but it's a sign alright.
