Friday appetizer snowstorm getting interesting
Could be a 1-3" possibility.

Sounds like we need that friday system to setup some good cold so everyone and the coast do not have to worry on temps.

I got a pair of 8s today. 8 degrees out this morning and 8 mph wind.

Temps rose above freezing last night down here before crashing back into the 20's. A decent amount of ice covering cars and some of the shoveled streets and sidewalks.

Bottomed out at 8.6 this morning.

It's amazing that in the middle of January my low for the season is still the 4.8 on November 23rd. The 15 in NYC on that date still stands as well.

It Looks like they will finally be replaced early next week.

A few flakes update snowing lightly covering grass and road

Been snowing here on the island for about an hour. Roads covered in a powdery snow. Light dusting on the grass so far.

1” otg. Light snow continues.

Coating of snow whoppi then Tom night snow to ice to rain this winter sucks

31*. About 1/2” on the ground. Light snow to flurries falling.

29* with light snow. A coating of snow here. Snow should be wrapping up in next hour or so.

The terrain looks like a big sugar cookie. 24 and a dusting. No school delay

Roads and sidewalks covered, but not the yard yet. Flakes have gone from small and very fine to what I'd consider an average size snowflake.

Light snow here. Nothing to write home about. It seems to be taking its time. Looks like about six more hours then freezing rain from 3 am to 6-ish. I see all rain from then until 1 pm. My eyes fixed on 33 degrees being the temps at that time.  I wonder if tomorrow morning is going to be a surprise

The rain started around 7pm last night, and this morning I woke up at 5am to 36º and rain.

It is 32. Last night I think it made it to about three inches. This morning, there is a thick crust of slop, about the same amt on the ground. Since 6 am, no rain. I have not gone outside but this looks like glop and will be hard to get off the driveway before the freeze comes.

Rain has ended in the city and it's actually pretty comfortable out at about 43 degrees and no wind.

Someone's got to be pulling their hair out over at city hall. The November storm wasn't prepared for and obviously was a disaster. Now the city heavily salts the roads when a few flurries are in the forecast. I don't think I've ever seen so much salt they put down in preparation for this storm only to have it all washed away with not even a flake seen in Manhattan. It's been the norm so far this season since November - what a waste of taxpayer money.

Now a very heavy, icy rain.
