Keep an eye on the Sunday/Monday time frame for possible frozen precip again N&W of the city. Very interesting set up for sure
Or they better have strong gripping them.

850mb winds backed off slightly from 2 days ago but still gusts over 40mph possible.

Re: November 2019 Observations and Discussion
The threshold for them flying is 22 mph sustained winds and 33 mph gusts.
They are at this level on the models.
The balloons won't fly but will be walked from what I have read just above the ground.

It was close to 60 today. A glorious day in the sun. For those who had to work and be indoors...I drink a beer now in your honor

Winds are howling. I don’t think they’re flying the balloons today in the parade?

Re: November 2019 Observations and Discussion
Looks like they are going to go with the balloons, but they can stop them at any time along the route if they have to. I'm sure they will be flying quite low.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well Frank and to all on the board. Could be a headline in the making by flying the balloons. Off to a turkey bowl. Enjoy all!

Re: November 2019 Observations and Discussion
Well, just as forecasted, winds increased quite a bit at 10 am. Not sure how much longer they are going to be able to manage the balloons!

Re: November 2019 Observations and Discussion
The wind truly howled. About 30-35 mph during the day, with some heavy gusts upward to 50ish. Trees bent to the 10 o'clock position for extended periods of time. i was surprised at the intensity.
