Nice squall rolled through here around 4:30pm. Was pretty intense for a time. Coated the ground.

25* and moderate snow. This is actually the steadiest snow squall I think I’ve had here yet. Roads and ground coated. Looking at radar this might be the last round of the night here.

Squall up here, too. 18 degrees. It blew for a half hr. Everything coated again but it didn't ice up for which I am thankful.

18* with a w/c of 4*.
Not gonna lie, for about 24 hours, I get a thrill out of these super cold days. The colder/windier the better...for about a day, two tops. After that, the thrill is gone...and it’s just suffering until the warm up comes. Lol

We got about 1/2", and it's still on the ground. Everything frozen at 16° now after a low of 14°. Ice chunks dropping off trees and power lines from the wind.

Only got down to 10.9° which did not even beat the 8.8° on December 8.
Received 0.4 inches of snow from the squalls yesterday bringing the seasonal and monthly total to 14.8

Those are 1 Pm temps Christmas Day, which are very near normal to slightly above since the highs will probably be a little higher between 2-3 pm. I can live with it, but I have also seen higher projections for Christmas Day near 50 in some spots which I'm hoping are wrong.

The squalls t about 9:30PM last night had ice chinks flying all over - it looked like glass !!
Low of 14" for me as well.
Putting it out here - Xmass eve MAY just see snow showers!

Re: December 2019 Observations & Discussion
Picked up a solid inch, perhaps even 1.5 inches from 2 separate snow squalls that blew through yesterday here in Hopatcong.
I'll call it an inch just to stay on the conservative side for my snowfall totals. Now officially up to 14 inches in December!

Up to 30° here on L.I. Winds from the northwest at 14 mph.The only good thing about this cold weather is that it makes it easier to scoop up the dogs' turds in the backyard.
