I had commented about compaction earlier. I was very surprised to see how wet the snow consistency was when I walked out an hour ago. It's not the light powdery snow that fell last night.

How much more are we expecting?
Intermittent and at times steady snow will continue through tomorrow. I would be surprised if NYC and NJ pick up another 1-4 inches tomorrow.
Mac003 wrote:Frank. I am in Clifton Passaic County. NWS says 5-8 for me overnight. Is that a fair forecast or can I expect any heavy bands to set up that would give me more than that. Thanks for all you and other so. This forum is the best
You’re up by @amugs and @dunnzoo. You’re currently under nice bands. The 5-8 sounds right.
Rooster89 wrote:Weather channel is saying rain overnight for Middletown NJ. Any way that doesn’t happen and we get more snow?
You’re in a bad spot for the CCB. Most likely you’re done outside of potential snow tomorrow as it wraps around. If you do see rain it will be little

Best to use a model that goes in one hour increments. 18z gfs is misleading if you start from initialization. I think NNJ is still game for 5-8 more inches and NYC 3-6 inches.

30* with steady Light to Moderate Snow. Probably the best snow here since before the change to sleet and the dry slot this afternoon. Radar seems to be filling in here at the moment.

I'm still hoping despite it all we clear 20. Seems possible, if not necessarily likely.

Todays storm, with 15.3 inches in Central Park as of 4:00 PM, has cracked the top 20 at number 20 all time in NYC. It will be interesting how high it climbs up the list tonight. I'm hoping for at least top 10 if not higher.

19 Inches and snowing heavily.
Up to 25° which is my high for the day. Two feet seems like a lock. Almost four years since the last two foot storm in March 2017.
