PAINFULLY close. Lol. If I drove about 15 miles east I’d be in some good banding.

Things have changed since last report here in Barnegat. Temperature dropped dramatically about 10 degrees and has become a blizzard. Have not measured yet.

Temperatures will actually drop or hold steady behind the storm today before getting bitter cold tonight. With these wind gusts and wind chills won’t make for pleasant shoveling later today/this evening.

As the 500mb tries to close off it will pullback on the midlevel/surface low and pinwheel the bands a bit. This is the money time for western folks. The coastal areas will continue with heavy snow.

Decent band looks like it’s going to try to park itself over KNYC for a little while. Let’s get you to double digits!

In Barnegat I'm estimating at least 1' with full all out blizzard conditions.  Probably will get close to 18" when all said and done.  It's incredible this is the shore's second blizzard in January and last 3 years have been BN of snow.  What a call Rb!

12 degrees. light snow, blowing snow.I will go with CP's 4:45am measurement for now.There is blowing and drifting, a drift on a section of my roof I always get.Looks like Frank and the other map makers have this nailed for this area.Might have a shot at 6 before this winds down.With the 5 I had as snowpack, will be a nice wintery look.Very happy to have gotten what I have so far, some of those models a few days ago left this area with nada.

Just a few weeks ago two of my friends who live at the SNJ shore were joking about how when they moved in a few years ago their neighbors told them not to worry about shoveling the sidewalks, it “never” snows there anyway. They are now on their way to their SECOND one-foot-plus storm of this month. Lol.

This is why the models struggled with the low pressure placement.  It clearly is not consolidated, but just enormous convection.

Train service is being suspended systemwide as a precaution on the LIRR..

Deer Park 25 °: certainly not easy to get a measurement so just sticking the ruler out the door on the railing Im getting 6 inches.

Atlantic City will surpass its largest January snowfall totals by at least 12”. Unreal.

wow winds picking up and snow is blowing. dropped down to 20*...chili is in the crock pot and Ruby our puppy is mesmerized by the snow drift up against the back door.

Wow. Not sure many inches…but that’s a lot of snow, with at least 4-5 more hours to go!

I looked out around 4:30 am and it had stopped snowing.  I went back to bed.  Now that I’m up for the day, I see it’s snowing again, but there isn’t too much accumulation out there.  It’s going to be hard to measure due to blowing and drifting that has exposed the pavement out front.  But judging by some flowerpots on the deck out back, it looks like maybe 2-3 inches.  This is in addition to the 0.75” that fell yesterday, which had melted completely off most of my deck.

looks like there is a band that is about to form right across long island....i guess thats the band NWS is calling for 2-3" per hour or more rates

Drive home wasnt too bad. Plows had at least been out. I had my jeep gladiator for two years now and this was the first descent storm Ive got to commute in it with. Overall I am happy with how it handled. Its 9 degrees here and windy with fine flakes. Not much snow to measure though. I estimate an inch. Not sure if most of it blew away since its so light or not much snow fell. Hopefully I can get an better measurement when I wake up later today.

Few inches here in edison maybe 4 or 5 but hard to tell since the snow is blowing around so.much. it us still snowing but it is light, I guess we are missing out on the heavier bands and dealing with some subsidence
