For those who just want to get the nice tingly feeling of 'what if?', here are the last 3 Canadian runs for next weekend 12/7-12/8. Obviously, not posted to portray what might happen, but maybe to portray what could happen?
Yesterday 12z- not much happening.
This morning 00z- starting to show a little something, at least as far as an actual storm goes:
Just now 12z- Hey, Hey, Hey! That's starting to look like a little something to watch!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and hopefully this post ages well! haha

Just saw what looked like a Bobcat waltz through my parents yard, cool. Did not catch a picture. Over the past 10 or so years they seem to be more common place in southern NE, even in populated areas what is the cause of this? One was walking down the sidewalk at the grocery store here in their town years ago.

Not to sound cruel but I suspect it’s a combination of population density taking over formerly natural environments forcing them to adapt. With humans typical comes small cats and dogs that are likely easy meals. You also see this with Coyotes in urban and suburban areas across the country.

Extreme for this region with snow squalls - such weather is ramping up worldwide. Have to love the weather fluid dynamics!!
Game on! Blizzard Warning in effect for Western MD. The term "Blizzard" has nothing to do with the amount of snow, it's more about the wind and visibility. Definition: Sustained wind, or frequent gusts, of 35 MPH+ and visibility at or below a quarter mile. Keep that in mind if… pic.twitter.com/3VUDogwJHJ

Today's rainstorm which will yield over 2 inches of rain is the opposite of what happened around here in 1960, 64 years ago, when over 20 inches fell in Fort Lee NJ on Dec 11-12.I've got the precipitation but not the cold air.

Another turd of a winter on tap
I live at 1,200 feet in NW NJ and my 10 year old daughter still doesn’t know what significant snow pack looks like. Every year now it’s the same thing. Each storm has to thread the needle with every teleconnection on earth needing to play out just right. I’m 44. Back in the day it used to just be cold in the winter and snow storms happened all the time. I am nowhere near intelligent enough on climate to say if it is global warming causing this, or just a crappy part of the evolution of climate over time. It’s just annoying these days to be a snow lover and deal with the realities of these horrendous winters in the northeast.
