Well I finally did it. I used my Stihl leaf blower to clean off the driveway of its snow. It took about 1.5 hours but it worked well. It was fun to be out in my Carhartts and ear gear on. Really peaceful. The blower was locked "on" so I just walked along. My friends in PA do it all the time. I'm sold. Of course I used a bottle of gas. I buy the premix with no alcohol. I also use SeaFoam Green gas conditioner. Everything starts out of storage first pull. Gas is good forever. No fuss. No muss.

I noticed this as well, on my phone using Chrome. Very annoying. I changed my settings to block pop-ups and it's no longer a problem.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Looks like many of you had a white one. How great was that! My stay in Fl. will be over the end of February when my lease is up but just took a new lease today in Flat Rock,NC.to be near my daughter. Quite a change from the beach to to the mountains of western NC. Never imagined I'd be such a nomad at this stage of my life.

I'm still around and enjoy hearing about the weather back in my home state of NY where I lived for 71 and 1/2 years. Check the forecast every day up there. Florida just wasn't a good fit for me. It was a very difficult year with much heartache losing my son, but the year has ended on a happy note with my daughter getting engaged. Let's hope 2025 brings much joy and happiness to all of us.

Western NC is very much like the Lower Hudson Valley so you won't be as homesick as in flat as a pancake Florida,LOL.

Yep, probably was WABC with Cousin Brucie or WMCA with the Good Guys ( and the Good Guy Sweatshirt,Lol). Maybe on the pushbutton AM Radio on the 1954 DeSoto we had at the time.
"Move it or lose it" absolutely right! If you don't, you wind up like the Tin Man in the Wizard Of Oz, frozen up solid,LOL.

I’m starting to feel like the Indian fan from the movie Manor League. Best set up in many years; epic cold could break records. So far no snow realistic in the 10 day for NJ and lows look to be no less than low teens. Cold yes, but it’s winter type of cold, not record breaking from Siberia. Everything gets so overblown.

Damian, over the years I have discovered the versatility of the leaf blower.
Clearing snow off car and driveway, but only if it is the light and fluffy stuff.
Drying car after washing.
Clearing out debris in the gutters in the fall.(I had a ranch house and was able to walk along the roof, Ymmv)
Good for clearing out downspouts too.
Opening all 4 car doors and blowing out pet hair. My black lab shed like a maniac.

Epic cold that could break records, but no one said would break records. If it happens it’s still in the 5-15 days from now so time will tell. Record low temps may not be broken in your backyard, but they could and likely will in someone else’s. There could be a huge area in the Deep South and tenn Ohio valley that could def flirt with some records. If not it will still be below normal for at least 1/2-1/3 of the country. IF these images were to come to fruition I’m pretty sure there would be records broken along the gulf coast states. First image are degrees F below normal and the second are actual temps.

No snow in NJ? All of NJ, or your back yard? Because somewhere in NJ is def looking at snow for 6th-7th at least. How much and where are the mostly likely questions. South to north better to worse for the odds.

Everything is overblow? Who and what exactly is being overblown? First Nothing has happened yet. Be careful not to weave a narrative inbetween things that people say about what might come to fruition in the future. People perceptions on what is being said is often what leads to their disappointment. Obv some hype things more than others for whatever reason but its up to you and me to not get caught in the hype, and take everything with a grain of salt. For the most part, while some of us get a little excited(perhaps because of our bias to cold and snow) at the prospect of a pattern that can support snow, the discussion on this forum tends hold an optimistic but realistic view of things in most instances. It’s been a couple of years since there has been cold around. Cut us some slack
