A stiff 96 today at the foot of the Shawangunks. Pool temp 84. Grass has not been cut for two weeks. Still green. Lightning bugs are out. Summer fruit is lovely. More heat next two days

87* at 10 a.m. Let's see if we can get up to 100* today. At least it appears some relief from the heat and humidity will arrive at week's end. Thursday and Friday's 84* with low humidity will feel absolutely delightful after this heat and humidity.

90 degrees here, sunny, calm wind.
I will be able to walk around the pond in town Friday, just been too hot for me.Have a huge basement here so I have been walking down there.

Having flashbacks to holding an infant..she only weighs 7 pounds but the weighted blanket to keep her calm with all these storms is giving me baby elbow..

We had rolling thunder last night, no measurable rain here in central Bucks. And have had no rain for two weeks---preciptation north and south of us, just hot and dry in this part of the world...

Had big storms all around me last night. I only lost power for a few minutes, but people around me were still out this morning and there were a lot of downed trees.

Looks like round 2 of the severe weather is rolling in from PA as we speak. Chances for severe storms through the evening hours.

Holy crap! We had a dying line and as it approached NYC metro it bowed and started firing lightning like a machine gun WOW, and winds were stronger than I have ever seen with a t-storm. Luckily we kept power but I am near positive there was plenty of tree damage WOW

Per lightning tracker map which is very accurate within 2 seconds had the area at 145 lightning strikes a minute!!

Literally the storm blew up out of nowhere as it approached NYC and then bowed causing straightline winds here, did you get the winds too? The rain ras blowing horizoltal on and off longest was probably a minute which is when i thought the power would go. I can't see many trees from my side but what I could see they were thrashing around like crazy.

It's our turn...crazy over 1/2 an inch in like 15 min..Ruby wants to know what the hell is going on...why is this happening every day..

...son took her and tried to calm her...hope everyone ok with this storm....we we stayed last week in Rome Pa..a tornado hit today..

Hey Mom, that poor pup will need a doggie shrink if this keeps up.What a beautiful pup.

69, cloudy, calm winds.Had a minor T Storm last evening then showers.Looks like it really strengthened as it hit east of me.The orange and red blob on the NWS map finally gone after days!Going to 56 here tonight woohoo!

Hey mom. Little side note re your dog. Talk to your vet about a sedative such as trazadone for these situations. Combine the sedative with:

1) find a room in the center of the house or basement, somewhere away from windows to avoid seeing lightning. Unfort sometimes this is still impossible.
2) Try one of these products to dampen or eliminate much of the sound of thunder: Critt Ears, Mutt Muffs
3) With a sedative, in the center of the house or basement, some kind of hearing protection, also play this or something like this to further dampen the sound but also somewhat soothing:

WHEW! Rain in New Hope, 3/4 of an inch last night after two weeks of barely a sprinkle now and then. Hope more will be on the way...

Hi Everyone...I hope you're all enjoying the summer!

I've spent most of this month in Jacksonville visiting my parents and my brother/his family. In Florida, the daily forecast in the summer is soooo predictable. For Jax in the NE part of the state, the bidding starts everyday somewhere between 90* and 92* for a daytime high and often reaches 95*-97*, always with a minimum humidity of 70%. The overnight lows bottom at 75* with a minimum humidity of 80%. And it seems that Jax also gets the daily summertime thunderstorm, just like South Florida does. But these storms don't break the hot-weather pattern for a day or two, they just leave behind a hot and humid steam bath for the rest of the day. lol

And this holds every day from late-May through early-October. Oh well, at least it helps me to appreciate when the summer heat/humidity breaks in early September up in the NE and we get that beautiful autumn weather!
