Just heard a top or a tree go somewhere. Not sure where, and I’m not venturing outside to go look lol the squall like approaches…..

Tornado watch has been extended to 10pm for essentially northern central NJ on northward.

Line is about to come through, this should be interesting.

The squall line had less wind with it than I had all day!!! Torrential rain, but only a couple of significant gusts. Go figure haha

heavy rain, thunder now. No wind. Wind has stopped.

Not much happening in Union county. Not sure why we are under tornado watch. Everything looks way west. Am I missing something?

The line weakened before it got to you, but Damian got the goods, it seems. I definitely verified the wind advisory up here haha easily had gusts over 40 mph.

Beautiful rainbow. 80% humidity, 66 degrees. (Yes, rain AGAIN this weekend)

Weirdest thing happened around 11 pm. Sudden downpour and wind storm lasted like 15 min...but not in any radar .it was spooky..that it was not called for and was not on radar or called for for our are..currently 65*

Mom, here the cloudburst was at 12:30 pm for about 20 mins

73.  Going to 84. Humidity is 74% so it is betwixt and between out there.

I have to be the bearer of bad news; last night sunset was at 8 pm and tonight it is at 7:56 pm.  7:58 in New Hope.  7:57 in Monroe.  You get the idea.

My good man, not bad news at all! Shorter days ,lower sun, cooler temps!AND closer to OTI opening day!!!

There is going to be one heck of an early Autumnal cool shot with this incoming trough behind Ernesto; it’s going to be gorgeous!

Secondly, definitely getting some early color in the foliage up here and some early droppage. As we get into late August I always notice a handful of leaves, but I feel this year is more pronounced. We’ve had quite a few mornings in the upper 40s and low 50s the last few weeks, so that could be why. But I’ve also noticed that geese have been flocking like crazy for the last few weeks too. I’m not sure if it’s just a regional thing, or not, but that is way early, even up here. I can’t put my finger on it, but I’m starting to get a feeling for this winter, even though things don’t look overly promising right now.

I have been noticing some isolated colors here too, but I think rather than it being autumn related, it is likely due to the stress these trees incurred over the multiple heatwaves and that damage tends to show itself towards the end of the season.

OMG...talk about under estimating the flash flood potential. this is high level. major catastrophy over a large area of CT.

At 508 PM EDT, emergency management reported widespread water
rescues across Central Fairfield to Northern New Haven Counties.
Several mudslides have been reported. Between 5 and 10 inches of
rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Central Fairfield County
toward Northern New Haven Counties. This is a PARTICULARLY
DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

OK, WPC added moderate to the area, and rightfully so!

Looks like NE NJ is getting pummeled and that severe t-storm is moving 15mph training, headed incoming to southern westchester. Yikes. Any reports from over there?

Heavy rain started about 10 minutes ago. I nearly jumped out of my chair as my phone just went off with a flash flood warning alert. Going to be a rough night for sure. Everyone stay safe out there.

For some reason my galaxy does not give alerts, ive tried everything i can find on setting it and still nothing happens. I did just get a flash flood warning for my area until 10:15, thats a lonnnggg time. Seeing lightning now off towards hudson. Expecting the flooding rains to start soon.

Whats scary is for CT that batch will eventually make it into fairfield where some places have seen a foot of rain today!! That area moving from NJ now is putting down 2-4+, if they see another 2-4+ in CT making for a foot and a half of rain that's gotta be some kind record and will be massive damage (already has been look at news, mudslides rescues from homes roads etc..

WOW, this is nuts tons lightning, many so close by scared living daylights out us about 4x, rain is so hard its been a whiteout for a hour almost. Unreal this weather we have been having.

Lots of flooding, saw mill river southbound at exit 3 mclean ave is as usual under about 6+ inches of water. Looks like lots more to come. Those areas in fairfield could see 2 ft of rain IMO from looks of radar. Now looks like a training band over western NJ is heading very slowly ENE and will go across the same areas, this may be a all night on and off type thing. SPC and WPC dropped the ball on this one big time. That moderate flood potential should been up this morning and in CT high.
