WOW, this is nuts tons lightning, many so close by scared living daylights out us about 4x, rain is so hard its been a whiteout for a hour almost. Unreal this weather we have been having.

Lots of flooding, saw mill river southbound at exit 3 mclean ave is as usual under about 6+ inches of water. Looks like lots more to come. Those areas in fairfield could see 2 ft of rain IMO from looks of radar. Now looks like a training band over western NJ is heading very slowly ENE and will go across the same areas, this may be a all night on and off type thing. SPC and WPC dropped the ball on this one big time. That moderate flood potential should been up this morning and in CT high.

Holy cow..we have gone thru that whole strip.notndone yet I don't know if I remember rain just this heavy...it's insane lightning and thunder..been raining for almost 40 min

UPDATE don't know if the rain meter could keep up just stopped and we had 3.3 inches of rain during this round

We are in Buffalo where it did not rain at all. Neighbors told me yesterday lots of intense lightning and thunder. And heavy rain. I will check the gauge when we get home today. No evidence of leaf change at all all the way up here to Buffalo. I hope everyone made out.

68 degrees, mostly cloudy, calm.
Wow, insane rain totals in CT and Doc above.Dodged a bullet here, don't think there was more than an inch.More rain on the way today, though.

3.13” of rain here. I can’t believe how hard it was raining. One of the hardest sustained rainstorms I can remember.

That's what I said to my husband the sky was on fire and the rain come down..we got our 3+ inches only a little over an hour...just nuts

59 degrees , partly cloudy, calm winds.

Went there some 20 years ago with a Buddy when I actively fished the Beaverkill River in Roscoe.Think it is in Livingston.Never got into fly fishing, too much bother for me, I was a spin fisherman.Interesting to see it ,though.

Wow is right! What a beautiful morning to wake up to. Had the windows open with fresh cool air blowing through my place. Dropped the temp inside several degrees with no AC. A couple more days of this ahead also! Great way to head into the end of August.

Mom, NWS showed 49 here but I slept in and woke up to 52. Even the light seems like 10% less, autumn-like. I noticed it was quiet last night but for a low volume cricket concert

Joanne , I am not complaining about this weather either unfortunately it’s not going to last but at least it won’t be as bad mid 80s by Sunday and Monday and Tuesday, but it won’t be as humid. At least fall is around the corner.

Hey Damian, remember the old vent windows in the front, you could aim it at yourself and get blasted by fresh air,lol.I remember them from my 1959 Ford.

After this nice little "Fall Preview" looks like we'll be headed back to some more normal late-summer weather this coming week with temps in the mid-to-upper 80s. But it looks like another wave of Fall-like weather could return after Labor Day. Of course, by then, we'll be in meteorological Fall which begins Sept. 1.
