Welcome to October. Fall foliage, pumpkin spice, Halloween spookiness, cool days and chilly nights. All with a touch of baseball postseason and college and NFL football, soccer, and the hockey and basketball seasons opening up. Who could ask for more?

What a beautiful day here! Will take this weekend before the chill down! 
Limped this boat out(can't be properly fixed till out of the water) for a weekend on her.. so sad we have never had a season not using the boat...going to be in mid 50's tonight...can't wait to be cozy under the blankets and the stars I hope we get to see the Northern lights!!

Such a gorgeous weekend! Got down to 47* overnight and today I'm out in shorts and flip flops 
Did have to bring my mandevilla plant in as overnight temps will get down to the 40's this week, so now I have a tropical plant in my living room lol

Went to malverne ny today to a huge 150 home townwide sale filled my trunk with inventory. My daughter who's 11 had gotten into it and is up get ready at 5 6am! Fun day and so nice.

This past Saturday, I hiked up Lyon Mountain in the northern Adirondacks (about 25 miles west of Plattsburgh). Here were some views from the top (the first two from the fire tower):

our townwide in Hazlet is Oct 19th

Amazing to see the transition from deciduous trees to fir and pines with the altitude.Nothing like smelling that fresh, piney air!

Dipped into the 40s here this morning. Definitely a chill in the air these days. Looks like some areas to the north and west could flirt with the upper 30s Friday morning. Around middle of next week there is a possibility those same areas could flirt with a freeze.

Yes, the shot of cold air next week will likely pack a little more punch than the one that brought us this week's chilly temps. I think frost is definitely on the table for a lot of folks by the middle of next week.
