Wednesday night’s possible light snow event will be minor, if an event at all, but I will always take a coating of snow this early in the season, so still hoping to see some snowflakes from it.

19 this morning about 6 am. The dog loves the cold weather. She goes into the woods and becomes Wonder Dog.
My son is home from Buffalo. It looks like he will have a rough time getting back there. Lots of snow there. I am looking forward to the snow this month. Weenieing out about it.

Went down to 19.8 briefly at 4:30 AM, so able to crack into the teens. Not bad for December 1.

Mom, that is a point of discussion. More snow up there Tues-Thurs so it looks like he is staying here. He wants to be here, and not be stuck there, when his grandfather passes which is any day. Today's snow, plus those other days...who knows...and he has not yet driven in all seasons. Buffalo is not the place to break into winter driving. It's all a muddle.
I see we have reached the high of 36 here today. The low will be 22 here tonight. We are transitioning from cider to hot chocolate.

Oh I am so sorry to hear about his grandad 
for the family..on a side note same discussion here..it's easier to take the train and except for Thanksgiving a lot cheaper..I can bring him home fland back for less than 75 dollars round trip sometimes less than 50..#!$ the time and safety of not having him drive anywhere from 4-6 hours alone..he wants to come home for Christmas at night after his last exam..and I said hell no you are not driving first time in the dark...and we are not even talking the weather..lol husband said let him be a man...
But nope he has to make that first trip in the day time or I will lose my mind

When I got my license in February 1968 and made a solo drive from Fort Lee to the Paramus Roller Rink in March at night, my Mom was fit to be tied, but my Dad overruled that and let me do it at age 17 in my 1959 Ford,LOL.That 50 dollar round trip on the train makes sense and cheaper than gas, tolls and wear and tear on the car.

Sunday night Football game is being played in the snow right now on NBC. Buffalo Bills vs. San Francisco 49ers. Old school football out in the elements as opposed to the climate controlled domed stadiums which are the norm these days. Go Bills! Any fans out there?

Greybeard, I am watching. Even the announcers know about lake effect snow. However it is 29 and not 0 so let us hope no frostbite.

Be on the lookout for some rain and snow showers late Wednesday into Thursday morning. Part of a clipper system swinging through southern Canada. The snow is just for N&W and shouldn’t accumulate much

I agree but how long does that above normal pattern settle in for? is it a transient thing and the cold reloads and comes right back or does the above normal lock in and remain above normal for an extended period of time ?

don't sleep on this clipper in NW of the I95... c-1" most likely NW I95 but it could over perform if enough mid-level energy gets involved as there is a vigorous ULL to stir the pot. Immediate coast probably boundary layer issues.

My thought is we will be a few degrees BN this month. It will warm up some mid-month but I don't think too much AN for that stretch. Better chance of accumulating snow after mid-month as per climo would suggest. If we start losing the -WPO/EPO and +PNA for a good 2 week stretch, then you look for sig AN and right now not on the horizon.

Currently 73° which I am told is below normal (80°), sunny skies with winds @ 15 mph.
I see the lake effect snow machine is really cranking, 5-6 ft. in some areas. Here are some reports.

Does this still hold? I'm already not liking what I see forecast for mid month hopefully just a four or five day above normal stretch like you had talked about. Of course I'm fearing the usual pre-Christmas way above normal which has become the December norm the last several years.
