There will be two periods of steady rain over the upcoming days. Besides light rain today, look for a steady rain to form Sunday evening into the early morning of Monday. Could be about 1” of rain. Then the next round of steady rain develops Tuesday evening (NYE) into early morning Wednesday. After we get through these two events, our attention turns to the extreme pattern change that will bring extreme cold and ample snowstorm chances

Don’t get too used to the warmth today. Looking at the extended forecast looks like another cold blast is en route; somewhere in the time-frame between Jan 2 and Jan 10 we might have a stretch of several days where the temp struggles to get to get to freezing. Hopefully a couple snow opportunities to boot.

sit tight, my friend you think 68 is bone chilling another week or so it’s gonna get mighty cold up and down the East Coast. Don’t think you’ve seen that in quite some time.

Lots of thunder and some lightning along the Jersey Shore tonight. Is this an auspicious way to close out 2024...or a preview of a January to remember?

Weird system, small, almost looks like a hurricane rotating through the area, center appears on radar to be in PA. And a 31 hour wind advisory for the entire northeast pretty much, wow, I don't recall that one quite that long or in spread (what is causing this kind of long duration wind bc I think it is supposed to be nice out?). Big boom of thunder just now.

The radar lol (not joking), it's the radar spinning and at that point it hits a building from what I was able to research blocking it from displaying in that band. IMO that building should be torn down as we need a complete radar.

December temps wound up -1 to -3 across the area. The last few days prevented -5's.
