After today's storm Boston has had 44.8 inches of snow so far this season and NYC had had 40.3 inches. A negligible difference

So why has TWC been to Boston or it's suburbs like a dozen times this winter and I still haven't seen them in NYC?

Also why do I care?

TWC SUCKS. Sorry everyone, it had to be said. I cannot stand them anymore and they have lost all reputability in the weather world.

Agree 100%.Years ago, when they first started, it was a simple, concise weather forecaster. Now it has morphed into this bizarre, complicated nightmare. They've turned the weather into some Ringling Bros. circus act.Haven't watched it in years.

Driving around town today, some side streets still icy, trees glistening with ice, cold wind blowing and 14 inch snowpack.....THIS is the dead of winter!

Down to 22 degrees, with clear skies. Still have some snow left on the ground, but some places are bare. Need a light snow to freshen it up.

In all it's glory and how it should be. Good winter so far. Give me snow till the middle or late march and I'll label it great.

In snowy winters, March is productive right until the end.So far, this pattern is staying cold with snowstorms, albeit small, on the horizon until the end of next week.If this pattern remains through March, I'll be up in the 50's for inches of snow, a great winter in my part of the woods.

I'm at 39 and all last winter was 40.5!

Yep! I knew another variation of that as a kid..."herringbone skies never 48 hours dry". I think they are altocumulus clouds.

Golden Books put out a series in the early 1960's and weather was one of them. They had a great couple of pages on cloud types.I may still have that one somewhere.

4 this morning for the low. I beat the snowman

Deep snow cover and clear skies can really do a job on the thermometer.

You better dig that out Doc it's probably worth something. It's funny I do remember the Golden Books from my childhood. I think my mom may still have a bunch of them in her garage. She saved everything from my childhood toys, Baseball cards, Matchbox cars, and even my Hot wheels cars. It's nice to look back at the things that gave you hours of fun. Very Happy

Snow, they had Golden Books for weather,trees,reptiles,minerology.....Now you've got me going, I have to see if I can find them.

Just looked and I have Rocks and Minerals, Stars,Trees, Mammals and Photography.Isn't it the limit? Can't find my Weather Golden Book.Must have lost it or given it away.

My Mom threw out all my baseball cards from 1957 to 1962 and my four foot tall stack of old comics from the late 50's to early 60's.Or she gave them to my toddler niece and nephews for coloring books.ARRGHH....That cost me a couple of thousand at least.

Got a few years back a repro set of Topps "Mars Attacks" cards from 1962 series.i had all the originals in '62 but they were thrown out.Remember that set? It caused a national uproar of parents complaining they were too violent and gruesome, and ,man, were they rightI They stopped the run early as a result.

If your Mom had any idea what they would be worth today I'm sure she would've held on to them. My Mom saved my things thinking that she would have something for the Grand Children to play with when they came to visit. But my wife and I choose not to have kids because of our commuting(leave at 3:45am return at 6:15pm) to and from work lifestyle. But now she can't believe what some of these items go for and is glad she held on to them and so am I.
