Accumulating lightly on colder surfaces but is coming down moderately. Temp dropped rapidly to 33 now.

NWS has upped my snow fall totals 2-4" to 3-6". I can't understand why because radar doesn't look that impressive. Looks like it will be ending here shortly. Plus the snow has gone back to very light again. Any thought's ?

Areas in PA already approached 5-6", apparently near Hazleton, NWS probably did that to fit in with that but appears like it's just localized areas at this time.

Looks like precip is finally trying to fill in. The heavier band just off the Eastern edge of the twin forks looks like it is trying to rotate into my area. The positioning of the LP looks ok. H5 looks great. positioning of the 850MB LP in ok position. I still think this will be a quick hitter but still produce.

Need that green to increase over the entire region to achieve the 2-4" forecast, needs to snow hard in the next 4 hours before it pulls away completely, that's about how much time we have left. At least for NJ/NYC, LI has more time especially the east end where jackpot totals of 6"+ are likely due to them already being under heavy bands for a while.

I love the way H5 looks right now. Nice neg tilt. Look at the wind streams to show you the direction of the LP almost due north

I am out on the East End in East Hampton today ( I got lucky). Heavy snow after changeover from sleet about an hour ago. I would say at least an inch has fallen. Temp 31. Snow sticking to all roads and very icy due to earlier sleet and 37 degree temperatures.

27 degrees been snowing moderately here for the last hour and a half. About 1 inch so far, snowfall bordering on heavy right now.

Precip has been back building to my west since 2:00 as I noted then. Doesn't look like it's going anywhere for a couple of hours either other than intensifying.
