Already like 54 in the city. Forecast is calling for 57? It's probably going to break well into the 60s, especially with all this great sunshine.

That has to be a weather channel chart. Only they would be stupid enough to post Dulles airport totals as Washington, D.C.  Anyone that's been there knows that Dulles airport is in virginia a good 30-40 miles from Washington.  It's like putting totals from white plains airport or Stewart airport in Newburgh as NYC totals. Their stupidity just leaves me dumbfounded.

They also have DCA as DC which would be more correct. If they only had IAD it would be stupid, they should list it as western DC area or something though.

The real point is it's not in Washington Dc or part of the District of Columbia. It is in another state and it's 30 miles from the WDC border. If NW jersey had a major airport it would be like listing that airport as part of NYC I realize other outlets do it too but it makes no sense. It's in virginia. Well into virginia.

Took a walk to lunch. Gotta enjoy this while it lasts. No budding here yet that i can see. Probably won't see it until closer to April.

Trees budding? On what planet? It's going to to be in the teens Thursday night. I hope you were kidding about the budding.

How quickly we all turn. Even The KSW talking up thunderstorms. So sad. Thank God Snow man went into hibernation this talk would kill him. Tom and Doc are lost causes. Hector and DTone are evil personified. Janet you should be ashamed of yourself reveling in this weather.

It's a sad sad day on NJ weather forum.

With that said I happen to be in queens today and it is pretty damn nice out.

I would enjoy this weather more if it was here to stay, but sadly it is not. Rain tomorrow with possible t-storms with a chance of snow showers tomorrow night as temps crash into the 20's (teens in some spots).

Then it's going to stay in the 30's and 40's over the course of the next week with the next possible storm threat on Monday

I like snow but today feels real nice I can get used to it. You can't deny it or the calendar. I'd take one more big snowfall though, then melt and move on to spring.
Buds will be fine they can handle it as long as they dont open, that not happening for a while.

I could handle spring but not like this. To many teases the last month with no results. I need one last big snow and I can accept the change of seasons. I don't think I'm going to get it though and I'd rather not be teased again.

Maples in my yard and in the area indeed have little red buds. CP, it's going to be cold for one day, GFS shows a couple transient cold shots in the long range again, only lasting 1 day. Very few days below freezing in the period. Besides models often overdo cold in the long range. It's over, go move to northern Alaska if the only season you like is winter. It's a beautiful 65 degrees here and I'm out and about with the house windows open, something is seriously wrong with you if you do not like this weather, it's literally the perfect temperature.

Sorry Tom but 65 on March 11 isn't normal either, far from it. If you want that consistently this time of year you have to move to Georgia or the Carolinas.

BTW - My parents live about 30 miles north of Atlanta, beautiful area, except of course when they get 2 inches of snow, panic sets in.

Never said this was normal, simply saying I enjoy it. Avg temps are the upper 40s this time of year I believe which I would be fine with.

I've got buds or swellings that show the buds are coming on all the trees around here at work.

Also the crocuses are lifting the dirt in my front yard and the daffodils in my backyard are up about 2-3", half of which are pushing through the snowpack. Just happened in the last couple days.

Ah, CP, my friend, your loyalty to winter is admirable but the clock is ticking and we, who all love winter like you, also love the other seasons as well.We had a great winter to track and enjoy. But this winter, I'm afraid, can be described right now in an old Roy Orbison song....."It's over, it's over it's over.......it's OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVERRRRRRRR!

BTW, still have snow on most of my lawn, 3 to 4 inches and some shady spots still 6 to 8 inches.Still massive piles in parking lots.Guess they'll be around until April.

Belt it out Doc, I can hear you all the way over here.

As I said in the other thread give me one more good snow and I can accept spring with open arms. Still lots of snow on the ground here. Amazing the resilience of a snow pack once it's compressed and frozen over several weeks. Much harder to melt than a freshen fallen dry powder.

You'll really hear it when I'm up in Monroe next winter.Hope it is a classic Hudson Valley winter next year with us getting the best pattern.

You'll be the last man standing in these parts for snow pack for sure.Very hard to melt concrete. My new van, which I never bothered to shovel out in the driveway is still surrounded by 6 to 8 inches of snow (it's on the shady side).Haven't used it in weeks, using my ten year old heap van,LOL! Glad for that as traveling past the Red Apple Rest last Saturday, they were throwing cold patch asphalt in the potholes and loose particles were pounding the crap on my old van.Didn't give a rat's butt.If it was my new van, the road crew would have gotten an earful!
