dropped from low 60s to 55*
freeze warning incudes NYC, LI and coastal CT now.
Believe its been a while since recording a below freezing temp in Apr in CPK.

31* as a low this morning - feels like mid March instead of April!

Temps look to rebound nicely this weekend and into next week - more normal temps - 60's!!

No threat of rain expected until Tuesday afternoon, and even then it will be light showers. Plenty of sunshine with temps in the 50's/60's can be expected over the course of the next few days. Some clouds on Saturday. Easter Sunday looks great.

Just got back yesterday from Franklin, NY - Delaware County, NY which is about 85 miles NW of me here in Hillsdale, NJ - crow's flight that is not road miles =aprrox 100. it is the county above Sullivan County.

Anyhoo - was up there Thursday afternoon thru Sat afternoon

Highs - 51 Thurs , 48 Fri and 52 Sat

Lows - 24 Thurs Night and 29 Fri Night

Felt like early March up there - still snow on the ground in some places and nothing I mean nothing is near budding for spring.

Crazy as we came over the mountain in Sullivan County just near/south of Monticello (no not the great Thomas Jefferson's home) the temp went from 54 to 60 - amazing!

Oh and they had 2-3" of white gold this past Tuesday night up there in dem hills!

56* an dgorgeous outside today - a little cool but abundant, bright sunshine - yippee!!

I know that area well trout fishing in Roscoe NY many years.In the fall, when I start out in Mahwah, trees are barely changing, past Montgomery, it's 50% and by the time you hit Roscoe,50% of the leaves are down.Just the reverse in spring, leaves will be out in Mahwah while in Roscoe you barely see buds.

Frost this morning up in Monroe HV.When the frig will it warm up and STAY warm already!

Another beautiful day, backdoor cold fronts will pass tonight and again later into the week and into the weekend, however its late April and despite below freezing 850s I expect temps to continue to break into the 60s and for most remain above freezing overnight, some locations may recieve frost, overall pretty nice weather ahead. Me personally I like lower 70s like today will provide but 60s isnt bad either.

Going forward, I can see us getting into a rainy pattern by the end of this month and possibly to start May with below average temps. A lot of blocking will develop over Greenland which will result in low pressure systems cutting off near out area. Not a pretty pattern.

1st line dissipated over us, literally nothing in the rain gauge just made splatters on the pavement not even fully wet. Second line looks to be strengthening however and I'll be watching it for T-storm growth.

If we're lucky we should avoid the frost most of the time, however it may occur tonight especially in northern and NWNJ, possibly tomorrow but less likely. Getting real freaking sick of having to use the defrosters for the first 15 mins before I go to work so I can see out of the windows.
