I just registered, and there is no online payment option, you need to mail a check. I don't know if you can pay the day of, but if you are planning on going, maybe get it done soon so they get your check in time....

Bummer. This was posted on the website:
"Because of a family matter, Joe Bistardi will be unable to present at the conference this year. However, his partner, Joe D'Aleo will be presenting in his place. Thanks. Gary Lessor, Organizer."

Re: Tri State Weather Conference
So here are some things I got out of the confernce yesterday...
Paul Kocin now works for the WPC in DC and talked about the
winters from that pic and believes we are in a stretch of colder
winters
Dual Polarization radar webinars are available online if you want
to learn about how they work
NWS wants to try to put out 4-7 day forecasts instead of the 1-3
day they do now.
NWS - Upton working on better ways to predict storm surge
GOES-R satellite will launch in 2016
New GFS model running parallel in testing mode....no time frame
when it will be operational
Joe D'Aleo of WeatherBell talked about the upcoming winter.
Looking at the warm water in the N. Pacific as well as the
Gulf of Alaska, a weak El Nino, warm AMO, strong east QBO,
declining solar activity he is comparing it to '76-'77 winter. He
seems to think we are also in for a stretch of cold winters.
We also heard from a Hurricane expert who recently flew with
Hurricane Hunters through Gonzalo, and a storm chaser who
was chasing tornadoes this past season
David Robinson, NJ State Climatologist talked about the warming
trends and how we are getting fewer rain events, but when
we do get them, we are getting deluged with a lot of rain at
once. Lots more flooding.
It was an interesting conference, it comes around every 2 years, next one will be Oct. 1, 2016!

Great job Janet!! I wish I could have made it but I ma feeling teh cold already - at my son's ice hockey practices and games!!
This all fall sin line with the article I posted in the winter thread from Lietbrandt (?)- the German scientist who said we are heading into a period of colder weather until 2030 will be the peak from what he researched.
Love to hear such wonderful news.
