LOL, now the REAL world looms with biils and responsibilities!
Mars Chocolate, Holy Crow, does that bring back memories of trick or treating back in the late 50's and early60's.Wonder if they still make those Mars Bars? Gotta love that outfit, they help fund my retirement as a Dentist !
Think the big office and plant are out Hackettstown way.Drove past it 18 years ago fishing the Pequest River for trout.
Best of luck to you Frank. With your work ethic and determination, you will be a great success in life. You hooked up with a great outfit, good times or bad, people want their chocolate fix!
Now that you are working for Mars, I guess you are a real "sweet"guy as well,LOL!
Save me a candy bar please!

Doc,
I will be working from their Hackettstown office. And as Mugs said, that part of NJ is kind of its own micro-climate. And I will be living their this winter starting in January. So it should be interesting.

Yep, Frank, you will definitely be in the areas N and W of the I 95 corrider which is good and bad.Good if we have a snowstorm hugging the coast and slop occurs in the City and South, but bad if what has been happening the last five years occurs. The big snowstorms hit more S and E of the I 95.You will be more in the type of weather that SNOW gets in PA.It will be a big change from where you are coming from temp wise, much colder out by Mars,LOL!
Look up this joint called Johnnies out there.Great hot dogs and buttermilk.Think they are on Route 46, the far reaches just before PA.Think you'll like Hackettstown, seems like a lot of places there.Beautiful country anyway.

Whereabouts out there? It is beautiful country out there big change from Crawford that is for sure. Good one Doc on the cold and they get the tutor s and Alberta clipper snows unlike us , they drain the atmosphere out there. Best of luck to you and I know you will be successful.

Re: General Banter
Congratulations Frank. My wife worked there back in the mid 90's. At that time they had racks of candy and freezers with all their ice cream products on every floor. You could eat whatever you wanted for free, but you were not allowed to leave the premises with any of their products. I don't know if that policy is still in effect, but if it is get ready to gain a few pounds and go to the dentist a little more often. Who knows maybe Doc will come out of retirement to be your personal dentist. LOL ! The one place you have to be careful on in the winter is Hackettstown mountain on Rt. 80. It is notorious for really bad accidents during the winter and even in the summer time. Because of the elevation it freezes up very quickly and in the summer when we get heavy rain the water runs down the highway like a river which causes plenty of hydroplaning accidents especially with the tractor trailers. Trust me, I've been traveling that highway for almost 30 years and have seen some really nasty accidents and I've almost been in some of them a few times. I can't tell you how many hours I've sat there and waited for them to clear the highway of wrecked vehicles. Just be very careful when your traveling in that area during bad weather. If you perform as well as you do on this board with your forecasting. I'm sure they'll be glad they made you a part of their team. It's a really GREAT company to work for. Good luck with your new position.

Snow is right,Frank, heads up in bad weather if you are going through that spot in 80.Take it slow there.

Thanks everyone and thank you for the tip, snow. Luckily they are giving me my own apartment so I don't have to commute every day from home. But the apartment is still 20 min from Hackettstown and I think I have to take 80 still

Re: General Banter
Only now did I actually decide to look up where Hackettstown is and seeing that it is in western NJ, I realized this: During the Boxing Day 2010 Blizzard, while Frank got over 30" of snow from his Cranford, NJ house, Hackettstown had only 7" of snow. And I recall Tom saying he only got 6" where he lives. Frank, how bitter would you be if we had a Boxing Day 2010 blizzard redux while you were working with Mars?
LOL JK! A belated congrats on your new job!

Frank, when you get settled in near Hackettstown, make a trip on Route 80 west to Stroudsberg PA.Lots of wonderful little pubs and restaurants ( check out Flood's with multiple beers on tap). Lot's of fine young honeys walking around! Wish I was 40 years younger! Think you'll enjoy exploring the area, not too far from where you'll be.

LOL,and I think that's exactly what areas north and west of the I 95 corridor are going to see this winter. The trend the last five years is for the big snowstorms to hit S and E of I 95! This will all be in my winter forecast when the contest comes up.

That certainly is a milestone for the project.Good thing people are willing to go back up top and work in the building after what happened.
I read a fact that the old World Trade Buildings had finally been fully occupied shortly before they went down.It took 30 years for them to be rented fully.Hope that doesn't happen to the new building.
It really is a beautiful structure.Passed by it leaving on a Bermuda cruise this year and it is magnificent.Glad to see the area back on it's feet and rebuilding.
