Post by Dunnzoo Tue Nov 18, 2014 8:16 pm

Hi all,

I am in the market for a new home weather station and was looking at the AcuRite Pro-Color Digital with PC Connect...any thoughts or recommendations? I am looking for something that has frequent recordings, like every hour or so and keeps a long history...

http://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-01036-Digital-Weather-Station/dp/B00FWSP3UC/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1416359527&sr=8-10&keywords=weather+stations

Scott, I liked this one because I can get readings on my phone when I am not home....and I love the color display, mine is grey and black..

Dunnzoo and Sroc4, I have the Vantage Vue from Davis Instruments. You get an all in one unit for outside and a console for inside. I also purchased their Weatherlink option which let's you go online or use your phone to see what your conditions are from anywhere. I bought it on Amazon.com because they have the best price. They also sell extra consoles for this unit. I've had it almost 2 years and have had no problems what so ever. I just changed the original battery a week ago for the outside unit. It uses a lithium cr123 battery for outside and the in side console plugs in and uses 3 C batterys as a back-up if the power goes out. Check their website out for more information. It's a really nice station. Hope this helps you guys.

Just saw this one too...

I like that it is semi-solar powered and will feed directly to the internet so I can check it anywhere

I think about $150....see the links above for the info... it also has a bridge that helps collect the data and send it to my phone and I can be a wunderground weather station as well.... very cool! Now if we can get some weather to monitor, all will be well with the world!

It will look like the NWS office with big screen monitors hanging on the walls. Love it! Lol

I think that's the one I got! I put it on top of my garage... sunny enough for the solar panels and clear of trees. I nailed a small piece of 2x4 to the roof and then mounted the station on that... I posted a photo somewhere on here! Good luck!
Btw I have a detached garage so no house interference..
