I'm taking a second in between slinging drinks at my bar to tell you all what you already know: it is coming DOWN in Manhattan, sticking to everything and accumulating fast!!!

Started snowing 145  now 221 and over an inch and a half and pouring down.  Looking at the radar and assuming it snows till about 7 am  we'll easilly have over 6 inches.  Might reach that by 5 am at this rate looking at the radar.

snowing hard about an inch otg. everything white outside looks beautiful. I love the wet snows and how it sticks to everything and turns the landscape brilliant white.

Yes it is nice I just videotaped, and caught the funniest thing, first driver out there with a rear wheel drive car almost rolled it back into parked cars. I'll upload the video later and post the link.

Frank IMHO looking at the radar this could be a case where we get 6 to 8 within first 6 hours of the storm then get dry slotted with not much more happening. What do you think. I'm at almost 2" in an hour since it started.

The snowfall rates have been impressive. 8 is too high but 5-6 is possible.

I trust you but no crap....it's over 2 inches in just over an hour and the radar looks like it's only getting heavier.

This is reminding me of the 2/17/14 storm in its  evolution in how it was under forecasted, going to be heavy wet snow that accumulates fast on front end, long dryslot lull with sleet/drizzle possible then a potential at a little backend action.

Heaviest returns just getting to me now and already 2" Back edge looks to be thru DC already. I'm telling you that it's all over by 7 am with 6 to 8 area wide and then dry slotted with drizzle.

nam coming in with about 1" qpf liquid for this storm. so if we do the math and get 6" of snow that means they are expecting a change over to some other form of precip. frz rain is highly unlikely now as temps are between 31 and 33* so if we change over it would either be sleet or plain rain
