sroc4 Where the hell are you. we dream about this kinda shit. Hope you're not passed out. I'm getting close. I'm videoing the snow and wind for my sleeping kids so I can show them in the morning what they missed while they slept. They love it. I do it every storm

The past hour has featured some INSANE snow amounts here in Bellerose, NY (Queens/Nassau county border):

Frank_Wx wrote:H5 is close. Very close. I think it will happen by 2-3am. You can then expect the storm to slow down, possibly stall, and just continuously throw back heavy snow bands in LI, NYC, eastern NY and parts of eastern NJ. Some bands will get into interior NJ as well, but not sure how strong they'll be.
we're getting there, wish it would have closed at 930.

Just read on the other forum that H5 closed off in western PA, is that good for us, especially west of nyc people?

This thing is creeping along very slow mover. What position do you think it will be at when H5 Closes?

It looks like the first isopleths closed off in interior northeast, but that will likely expand to covering a larger regions encompassing all of NJ. Eventually, I think it stalls offshore

The wind has been aweful calm here, do we see any wind increase later or is that just not gonna happen for southern wc/bronx border?

Mis-read the question. Thought you meant where will H5 low be positioned. The storm will probably be right on the BM, or slightly east of it.

Really? I'm in western NJ and I hear it from my room. You'll probably get bursts. Nothing like LI, obviously.

Math you live 1 mile from my parents who are away on vacation for a week. Give me a heads up about totals. I'm sure I'll have to stop by there for a few hours to dig em out.Math23x7 wrote:The past hour has featured some INSANE snow amounts here in Bellerose, NY (Queens/Nassau county border):

Hey James, check this image out. This is 700mb frontogenesis, or where there is the greatest lift. It is pushing into central LI (the purple circles). This really enhances snowfall rates and the winds as well. Blizzard conditions will be seen most once this is over you. Another 1-2 hours

Winter storm warning cancelled for most of SNJ/SEPA Mt.Holly coverage area, mine reduced from 18-24" to 4-8" what a March 2001 this was, at least ill probably get a little more, settin alarm for time bands should come in if they do tomorrow
