Go get 'em, Kid. I'll check back Thursday AM to see how it all plays out!
Have my Mahwah snow records since '88-'89 packed away somewhere, but off the top of my head I think it was over 60 inches 3 times in all that 25 year stretch.Last 3 HV seasons incredible , even with bizarre twilight zone events happening in the snowstorms this year.I have had a blast enjoying it with everybody on the board.

I smell 1.15" for the win tomorrow night and yes I think you guys see about 1-2" as per latest model guidance! And CP wins by a nose - just like Pinocchio!!!!
We have 3 straight months of double digit snow fall amounts in KYNC - this is incredible as well as recording back to back well below normal temperature departures.
Oh and I am going to post in the education section that SROC set up the paper from a German scientist more meteorologist who published a paper about how he sees the solar cycles slowing down and in tern this will have a direct impact on our weather - for the good for us who like winter!!

relatively barren landscape...I have seen buds on some trees but not much else.
Allergy reports actually show moderate tree pollen recently...at least NYC and S&W.

When you have freat city planning that takes the L.A. and turn ut to a concrete storm basin sending all run off to the ocean you are going to have problems when you need water. California needs not to worry with all the damns out West they will just divert it away from people who have water and need it for farming and such. Also, whose bright idea was it to have the most populated state be located in the desert.

Same genius's that built New Orleans 5 feet below sea level.
What's killing California is the lack of snow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains this year.

Lack of precipitation in general. What's frightening is...any disturbances that do manage to get there seem to fizzle out.

I would be willing to bet too that when the PDO finally flips and/or the general pattern of high and dry in the SW changes it will prob lead to equally worrysome precip related flooding; mudslides, etc. Hopefully Im wrong. Hopefull we get a smooth transition.

Doc, they are diehard "Boys of Winter" and will soon be disappearing from the site until November.SNOW is already gone.
I'm staying active Spring, Summer ,Fall to learn from you and the others on those seasons patterns and outcomes.

I don't consider you that at all, snow.I love the fact it will warm up and I can get out fishing again.Say listen, I can only appreciate the winter after I've gone through the other seasons. We had a fantastic winter here on the board!

I will certainly be less active on the board. I love me some good thunderstorms, but for me way out here on LI they have a really hard time holding together due to the cold SST. Esp with winters like we just had. The cold SST kill the vertical motion needed for those suckers. You watch... good solid storms will move out over LI and literally disintergrate as they pass through Queens into Nassau County.
And also I have to be clear on one thing...if this weekend had snow in the forecast I would be just as giddy for it as mid Jan; however, since it is not I am ready to move onto spending a little more time outdoors. The stripers should be starting to move into the N Shore LI Sound waters as the SST approach 55* or so. Usually in May. Im hoping to do a little more fishing this year compared to last.

Haha, yep sure was fantastic. I know I have complained about it a lot but it could have been MUCH worse.

My fantasy storm would be 80 °F Sunny and snowing at 2 inches per hour with 3 feet total. The best of both worlds if you ask me.

My fantasy storm would be what the euro showed about 2 days before the juno "storm", the eurowx map had a circle over the LHV of like 40-60 inches or something.
NAM did the same thing for nemo, then I got like 7 inches.
