Taken from another forum, cool stuff (view any GFS run dating back to 2004)

Go to any GFS URL on E-Wall. Right after /~fxg1/ type in ARC followed by the date you would like to see for that particular GFS run. So it should look like this:

/~fxg1/ARC/yearmonthday/

With that in mind, here is the 0z GFS archived on 12/25/10. A huge moment for NYC weenies on Christmas morning.

Enjoy.

After getting all that snow this winter, there are still huge snow piles in Boston and its dirty, filthy snow.  How can any snow lover enjoy seeing this?  I sure can't.  Imagine if NYC did get 30 inches from Juno.

Its hard to fathom how any pile can still exist.

They mention it could easily last to July 4th.Guess the Municipal Dept. dumped all that snow into a huge pile. What a mess!

Up here I can remember snow piles in parking lots lasting to late April-early May when we had killer multi month snow pack winters.

Hey guys and gals.  Im sorry I havent been on.  I was on a fishing expedition on a 44 ft boat off Antarctica and ended up smack dab in the middle of a storm.  The one you see here seen pictured that is bigger than Australia, or as big as half the continent of Africa.

But in reality between work, kids, wife, and nothing really for me to track out by me (thank you cold winter; therefore, still cold SST) I have been taking a bit of a break.

Look at the 500 mb map from tonight and you can see the ridge over Greenland and the ULL near Newfoundland (aka 50/50 low).  Imagine if this took place in the wintertime...

There was a storm at the finish in the mountains at the Tour de France with lots of pea size hail. Temps were in the high 90's in the Pyranees mountains yesterday. Oh, and I saw a picture of snow in Australia ;-)

Southern California has been getting quite of bit of rain from the remnants of Dolores.  The Old Record for wettest July on record for LA is 0.24" and they topped that just today, not a lot, but it shows you how it rarely rains in July there.  Of course, the rain will not stick around there and they are still in a bad drought.

As much as we may want a cool/wet winter here, they need one there.
