It's hard for me to tell because I'm trying to compare two different levels of winds, but it looks to me that the GFS is still not in line with a stronger H3 jet like the shorter range guidance, and other foreign models are suggesting. That decreases some of the synoptic-scale lift to the southeast of the H5 trough. However, the southward movement of another 75-100 miles is a great sign at H5 nonetheless.

GFS came another 40-50 miles south. Hey, it's a trend right? This model may trend through 00z tomorrow. I can't wait for the GGEM/EURO!!!!

I thought it was closer to double that....the state of NJ is about 100 miles wide. Flip it sideways and compare the two runs. I thought it was darn close lmao

Yep, GFS is not as enthusiastic about the lagging jet at 300 hPa. That probably has some to do with the result.

SVT will probably get into moderate snow once the low explodes over New England. But nothing significant that you won't be able to drive back. The cold will be brutal though
