Final Call Snow Map, Monday 25th Storm

Final Call Snow Map, only to be released here and on the forum. I will not be here at all tomorrow. Will check in mobile time to time. This is how I broke it down:
1. NAM is too bullish. However, GFS/RGEM looked better tonight. So I went with a blend with the qpf.
2. Surface temps and timing of the storm IS a problem. Do not expect many accumulations on the roads unless it comes down hard. However, cold surfaces and greassy surfaces should get quick amounts.
3. Start time looks to be late Sunday night, like 4-6am. Will snow all day Monday. Some rain could get mixed in at times.
4. Overall, this storm is neat to track but since it is late March most of it should be gone by the end of the week.
5. Stay safe traveling Monday.

The latest GEFS total precip maps agree almost completely with the placement of the qpf with this final map. So I'm confident in the placement of heaviest snowfall, not sure if ranges will verify. We will see what happens

Haha, Tom is actually 4-8 in this map. I still rather be where he is anyways. Bahamas was it? Lucky him.

Ace, to make it show (like I just did for you) take the link and paste it in the "image" icon next to the hyperlink icon.
As for the map, you have some weird angles. Lol. But at least we agree on QPF. I think you may be underdone for DC or eastern MD, but no one here is from there anyway...

This storm will occlude somewhere south of LI. If it occludes later the heavier bands of the precip field may expand further north bringing totals up an inch or two, but I do not believe that happens. It will be a nowcast situation. Happy Sunday. Off to start the sauce.

Re: Final Call Snow Map, Monday 25th Storm
Climatology just overcame the potential of this storm and relly busted snowfall predictions. Sure, 2-3 inches may have fallen but none of it stuck. Philly and southwest NJ were projected for at least 5+ and they got at most 3 inches even though it snowed all day. Surface temps were way too warm and there were no dynamics.

Ace, I saw your post in the last thread. Do not worry about it. It was a tough forecast.
Re: Final Call Snow Map, Monday 25th Storm
I just really thought i'd get SOMETHING...nothing no accumulations....Shocked me....Sat all day in school looking out the window ( at the extremy heavy snow) waiting for the snow to stick never did...lol...Well, on to 50's and sunny
