Morning guys and Gals. received around 3" total as of last night around 9 before changing over. Brief change over back to snow this am but now is freezing rain. Which sucks because its my daughters B Day today and Im supposed to have a ton of family over. Hopefully we do see 40's but I doubt it.

You can see the ever so slight above freezing at 925 cutting LI in half from SW to NE. 850's are well off the coast. Anyone else to my west on LI getting snow right now?

4" here before change over then about .3fzr and I wake up to snow an additional inch or two so 5-6" total. if it stayed all snow would have had 9-10". oh well better than the 1-2" of rain models were showing the other day.

sroc4 I turned back to snow at 5 am big thick flakes and right now the last band is moving through. Heavy the last 20 minutes. Probably picked up a little over an inch additional snow.
Storm for me was 4.5" of snow from 2 till 9 yesterday. Then freezing rain and rain from 9 till 5 am (about .15" ice covering most surfaces) then another 1 " snow from 5 till 730

Finished with 4.0", almost no mixing at all. Snowpack is very impressive now, looks like 12"+.

Really hoping temps underperform today.

I'm ready for the next one!

27.7 degrees, 74%, 29.98 F

Looks like I picked up around 4 inches with the heavier snow all night long here. Will be out later to officially measure and update.

When you look out my window, you KNOW that "Old Man Winter" is officially in the house!Nearly 2 foot snowpack, trees and bushes all covered and more cold to come this week. What a memorable stretch of winter up here since late Jan, now almost 60 inches of snow for the year!

Really coming down still. By the way the roads in my neighborhood haven't been touched. They are covered in inches of slushy snowy icy mess. Glad I went out with my boy last night right at the changeover to shovel cause everyone else is going to have their hands full

I can't believe that there aren't double digit snow reports pouring in from lower HV, Westchester or NNJ. The radar looked like they had moderate snow for the 8 hours I had liquid. That should equate to about another 5" more than I got which wound up being 5.5" after this mornings change back

Remember the LHV got dry slotted yesterday afternoon/evening which likely cut down quite a bit on snow totals. If we didn't get the dry slot we probably would have had 8-10 inches here.

Jimmy, snow247 is right. That massive dry slot all day scrooed us big time while you shore and Island guys were getting blitzed. It picked up around 10 PM but the heavy stuff was east by then.Still glad to get around 4 because it looked to me for a while we would get busted with around an inch.

yes and if I didn't change to fzr I would have had 8-10" in lower westchester as I was in the heavier stuff all day. the changeover happened real fast last night as I changed over as fast as places east and south of me. started about 9:30 last night for me

I hear ya Doc, but I was up a few times between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. and looking at the radar I was sure that if you guys had 3" by midnight then you would have added another 4 to 5" overnight easy based on what I was seeing.  Might have been a little East and South like you said towards Putnam County and Ct.  Still snowing here and if i can squeeze out 1.5" from this morning after it changed back at 5 a.m. I would be at an even 50" for the season. Surprised Surprised Surprised

Al, looks like you guys were the furthest extent of the major slop.Mugsy, Janet and snow247 reported a bit of mix in the snow.It saved my arse up here so the remaining precip all night stayed all snow and I could get 4 inches.

That's funny Scott, it's my daughter's birthday today too. The slumber party is still going on as we speak, though they are all still out cold.

Good Birthday wishes to your daughter and I hope the weather clears up so all your guests and family arrive safely.

scott and pete my daughters bday was yesterday. she is 18. had to work yesterday so we are going out to dinner this afternoon. should have a descent day as precip is over and cold front will not pass until late afternoon so we should be near 40 once the clouds break.
