I remember college and a few good storms where snow was knee deep and wandering to a party or to get pizza, great times. Snow seems to make any memory better. You will have plenty of good storms to come.
Idk what I am talking about but we all need that 12 plus nor eastern that gives the tri state area 12 plus. ledgeHey Rb your knowledge of weather is impressive. Do you have a degree in meteorology.
Thanks. And yes I do. Only a Bachelor's, though.

Final tally here was 4.5 inches. Ratios and cold made a difference since we never got into the heavy snow.
Update it Doc. Now at 62 inches for the season.

Re: Final Snow Map - Observations Thread 3/1-3/2 Storm
Just want to say that you guys did a great job in calling amounts for this storm. I have no faith in watching TV news meteorologists anymore. Ever since they busted big time with that storm last month (just as everybody did) they seem to be afraid to over-estimate their predictions. I for one believe that if you make an overestimated prediction that was based upon good meteorological logic and models, then no big deal. Chalk it up as a learning experience. I would rather them overestimate than under which is what occurred with this storm which really caught many on Long Island by surprise. I think ABC news is still predicting 1-3" for LI when we got 7". Great job everyone. I tell all my friends, family and co-workers to turn off the TV and go to njstrong weather.

And we have a snow shower in Allendale - it is going to snow from Sunday to possibly Thursday up here - Talk about winter going out with a bang - crap it is a bazooka and not the gum (for those of us who can remember those days!)
Will it be a Howitzer??

I am expecting an area of enhanced snowfall rates for those located within the red zone which will help boost up snowfall amounts. Ultimately, this is where I think the thermal gradient will set up, thus promoting the greatest frontogenesis.
ICE:
Those in the red zone I do not believe have to worry much about ice, possibly less then .10" If you're in the blue zone from central PA to CNJ and south shore of LI get prepared for .15-.20" of ice.
The storm is looking pretty juicy as of now. Lets see how we look by the time we chat tomorrow morning at 10am.
This is about as accurate a forecast map as is humanly possible.
Many pros and amateurs can take some lessons from this one.
